30.1 JennRenee's Task: Do it Again, But Differently
I thought it would be fun to repeat some tasks or some reads from the Summer/Fall Season.

This is a 2 book task. Choose 2 different options and read 1 book for each option.
Every task will revolve around books you read or tasks you have completed from the Summer and Fall Season of 2025.
Required State the options

Option 1:
Choose an author you have discovered (new to you) in the Summer 2025 or Fall 2025 season of reading. Read another book by that author. Book cannot be part of the same series as previously read.
Required State book previously read and that the author was new to you.

Option 2:
Choose a task that you completed in the Summer or Fall 2025 Season. Read a book that satisfies one of the options you did not choose previously.
Required State the previous task completed options and new chosen option.

Example-
If you completed 30.1 JennRenee's Task: The Great Yellowstone in the summer challenge, using option 1 and 2, you can read a book that satisfies option 3 of that task.

Option 3:
Choose any book you read in the Summer or Fall Season and read another book that shares the exact same title. (punctuation excluded)
Required State the previous book read.

Option 4:
Choose any book you read in the Summer or Fall Season. Using that book's first published date, read a book with the same first published month but has a different year. The day does not matter.
Required Post the link the the previous book read.

Option 5:
Using the Group Reads for Summer and Fall of 2025, read a different book than the one you claimed for either season. You may use any winner of another category, or a nominated book in the category of your claimed book.
Required State the previous book read

Example:
For the Summer season I read: You Killed Me First
I can either read one of the other nominations for Fiction: Psychological Thriller
or I can read one of the winners that season - The Poisonwood Bible- Because Internet: Understanding the New Rules of Language- The Adventures of Sally

Lisa Hickman (lbhick) | 1527 comments Hi JennRenee,

I'm a little confused by using the Fall 2025 Season as part of repeat tasks since that is our upcoming season. You noted in your example for Option 5 that you read "You Killed Me First" for the Fall season; however, that was for the current Summer Season. I was wondering if you meant to do Spring 2025 and Summer 2025.

I will fix my example. But it is for summer and fall. Some might want to complete this post after completing on of the fall tasks. They don’t have to be claimed yet. Books just need to be read.

You could read two books on September 1st for one take and use those books as reference for this task.

Thank you for the explanation.

August (sarath595) | 38 comments For option three: when it says "exact same title" does that include subtitles? For example, if I read Istanbul: City of Majesty at the Crossroads of the World for the Summer challenge, could I read Istanbul: Memories and the City for option three? Or does the subtitle need to match as well?

Exact same title, the only thing excluded are punctuation.

Kristen (kristenia) | 1119 comments For Option 5, if I haven't read any of the Group Reads for Summer or Fall, can I just select from any of the winners? Or can I only do Option 5 if I've already read a Group Read from one of the seasons? Thanks!

You would need to have read one of the books to choose option 5.

Kathy KS | 2381 comments For option 2--

How about suboptions? For instance, for Summer 50.1, each "book" has two options. So, if I used book 1, option 1, can I use book 1, option 2 for this task? (and so forth...)

I've got a new to me author planned for for a bunch of tasks. 2 different series, and with this task it will be 3.

I'll read the first book for task 5.9 right away.
Then I'll complete Option 1 of this task - another book in a different series by that new author.

Do I have have to complete task 30.1 fully and submit it before I read the 3rd book by this author?

No, the task does not need to be submitted.

If you read book a - new to you author- then read book b (in a different series than book a) by the same author for 30.1 that is fine. - When you submit 30.1 just put that the book a was the first read by this author was book A in this series as the reference.

I hope that makes sense.

I get what you are saying you want to read book b before you read more of that series for another task that you can claim before finishing 30.1 - Right? or am I misunderstanding all of this. :)

I think we understand one another well enough for me to proceed. THanks for your help!

Julia (julia103) | 2718 comments For Option 3, if one book has a subtitle and the other does not would that still work?

My Mother's Secret: A Novel of the Jewish Autonomous Region
and
My Mother's Secret

(I saw post 11 but I'm still confused.)
