The Seasonal Reading Challenge discussion

Hey everyone,
Anyone else get the big advertisement on top of their My Books page yet? I got it since today. It is big and flashy (it moves too)... and honestly, for me it makes the site more difficult to use.
I'm disabled, I have ME, and am sensitive to moving and flashing things, so it was quite upsetting. I'm sure it is also pretty obnoxious to people who don't have that sensitivity.
What are your thoughts about it?

I just wanted to share the feedback I sent to Goodreads. Maybe some of you have a bit of time and send in a feedback form too?
You get there by clicking your profile picture on the right > Help > Add Your Idea (grey button on the right).

The moving ads on the 'My Books' page to be removed, or at least switched out with ads that are a picture vs a moving thing. Or an accessibility option for people to change it.

I have ME, and am very sensitive to moving and flashing pictures. Reading is a lot of the days the most intensive thing I can still do. The community on GoodReads supports me a lot. This moving ad on the My Books page makes it very strenuous for me. Is there a way to change it? I understand you all want to make money, but this makes it hard for me to remain on this website...

I think it is kind of an insult to the community too, to keep adding things to carve more revenue out of this website, but not doing the work to make necessary improvements to the site. You want us to make you more money, but don't give anything back..?

I just checked Hannah, and I do not have it yet. It sounds awful, and I know it will not bother my disabilities, but it is still something I hate on the internet! I will try to help and submit a feedback form on this. I belong to a few groups and will share it with them as well.

Hoping this is just some crazy test of theirs to measure people's reactions.

I don't have it. Are you using the desktop/internet version rather than the app?

Thank you! Yes I hope that's just it and it will blow over..
I noticed it this morning, and now in the evening the ad is gone. Not sure if it is an off an on kind of thing..

Yes, I'm on my PC.. I find it easier to find books to match the tasks and fill in my spreadsheet for SRC on here rather than on the phone. :)
