amara_gibsie and claires wife💋✨💍 (urgirl_amara) | 428 comments I really want to become a mental health therapist, and to do that, I need to complete my GCSEs over the next two years. The problem is, I’m not sure what the best way to do that is. Homeschooled GCSEs are very expensive, and I don’t know if it’s the right option for me or my family. On the other hand, taking them at school would be free, but I have so many fears and anxieties about going back.

I find it very hard to concentrate in a classroom setting, and I’m scared of being bullied by both teachers and students again. I’m also really insecure about my body, and I often need things explained to me slowly and clearly to understand properly. I worry that if I go back to school, I won’t be able to learn the way I need to, and it will just make everything more stressful.

At the same time, I really want to follow my dream of becoming a therapist, and I feel stuck. I don’t know whether to try homeschooling again, take the risk of going to school, or look for some other option I haven’t thought of. The uncertainty is overwhelming, and it makes me feel stressed and anxious almost all the time. I want to make the right choice, but I honestly don’t know what to do.

⭐wish⭐~school hiatus~ (dwisha275gmailcom) | 131 comments I mean, does online schooling still count as home schooling? And of it doesn't, i would recommend that if you're really anxious about school. But overall, i would recommend that you do go back to school, because one day, when you end up (coz i truly believe in you!) achieving your goal as a mental health therapist, you could show your journey as an example to your patients as to how you bounced back from difficulties.

Stefy B. | 4 comments I would definitely recommend for you to look for a psychologyst so you can star to work on all the anxiety and fears you are living with. It's no shade, I was hunted by fears and anxiety that prevented me from doing "normal life" activities and ever since starting therapy my life has completly change. I'm sure it can help you as well. Therefore you will be able to see more clearly whats the best option for you about school.
Hope it helps.

kitcantspell ( semi hiatus ) | 66 comments this is totally normal and completely understandable!! im also homeschooled, but i have friends in public school who also have anxiety. im not sure if they have this ( you said gcse so i assume youre from europe) but here we have a 504 plan and maybe that can be something to look into and see if your school offers it ☺️

mariya (mariya_aa) | 83 comments Im not entirely sure if this is an option as theyre so rare, but you could look into apprenticeships, level 2 is equivalent to gcse then once those are done u can level up.
But I suggest going back to school, it’ll be easier in the grand scheme of things :)
