Are you working on a new book or polishing up a manuscript that's nearly finished?

Maria | 4 comments Hi Bobbie, thanks for the invite to join this group. I'm currently working on two new books. A collection of short stories 'Love and Loyalty (and other tales)' and my third novel 'Second Chances'. I intend to publish them both through Lulu.com in the next couple of months.

Laura (lelvebak) | 6 comments Thanks for the invite, Bobbie. I am currently working on my third Niki Alexander mystery. The second, "Lost Witness" came out last month from L&L Dreamspell. I also just finished a short story for The Final Twist Anthology due to be released in 2010, and am on the selection committee for the anthology.

Hi Maria,

I'm happy to have you here. Thank you for joining. Two new books; that's a tall order but it sounds like fun. How exciting to have two upcoming book releases!!

Hi Laura,

You're welcome for the invitation! Thanks for joining our group. You sound like you are busy, busy.
Are the Niki Alexander mysteries a 3-part series?
Best wishes with your upcoming release, The Final Twist!

Hopefully, the Niki Alexander mysteries will have a long and fruitful run as Niki finds more troubled kids to counsel and mysteries to solve.

Laura (lelvebak) | 6 comments I know what you mean about time consuming promotional efforts. It's necessary, but I yearn to get back to writing.

message 9: by Laura (new)

Laura (lelvebak) | 6 comments Yes, horrible indeed. I find myself procrastinating all the time. I'm actually working on two books, which is majorly distracting. I should be working on one but thinking about the other.

You are most welcome for the Group invitation, Nanette!
How exciting, to be nearly ready to release a new book. Congratulations!

Laura (lelvebak) | 6 comments Welcome to the group, Nanette! I'm also working on a memoir, but in the earliest stages.

G'day all, I had word Thursday that my publishing company in America had received my manuscript & have started work in preparation for my soon to be released 100 compilation of my Australian poetry titled 'Out of Australia', included is quite a number of Aussie photos, it is not just a book of poetry but also a journey for the reader, showing my progression from my very early poems (some still with mistakes) to what I am writing now, my book will be published, printed, promoted etc. etc. in the states 1st, followed by an Australian release a short time later.

Congratulations, David! Your upcoming book of poetry sounds wonderful.

Having photos included with the poems is a stroke of genus! Are the photos full colour or black and white?

All the best to you.

Sharon (fiona64) I've got two WIPs: "Sui Generis" (working title) is a series of one-off essays and short fiction that will be published as a sampler.

The other, "In The Eye of The Storm," is a sequel to In The Eye of The Beholder: A Novel of The Phantom of the Opera.

Maria | 4 comments I'm currently working on my third collection of short stories and my fourth novel. The short stories are almost ready to be published, so hopefully in the next few months. My fourth novel is a fantasy novel, I've finished writing it and am now in the editing stage which can take for ever!!

message 17: by Kendall (new)

Kendall (kendallfurlong) | 2 comments My current project is a novel of growth and redemption, with 25k words written out of a projected 80. It has old guilt, and a spring/autumn romance with a lot of generational banter and misunderstandings. A couple of agents have expressed interest once I've completes the MS.

message 18: by Cliff (new)

Cliff Ball (cliffball) | 6 comments I'm currently working on my 4th, and maybe 5th novel. The 4th novel is about what would happen if Reagan became President in 1976 instead, called for a Moon Base by 1979, and a Mars Base by 1989, and the Soviet response to it. They respond by building a starship that would leave the solar system with the most advanced nuclear powered engine they can build. Meanwhile, back on Earth, nearly everything after 1989 happens similar to what happens in our timeline. The USSR starship ends up forgotten, and a hundred years later, a mission to explore the rest of the galaxy is conducted by the US and Russia. They eventually come across a very unhappy group of ancient Soviets....

The 5th, is quite possibly, a sequel to my 2nd novel, Don't Mess With Earth.

P.I. (thewordslinger) | 25 comments When it rains, it pours...trying to finish up my vamp thriller and now I've been asked to contribute to three or four anthologies! Not to mention my epic fantasy, two more sci fi adventure-ish novels. Six months ago I was in writing limbo--no deadlines, no contracts no nothing...now I can't write fast enough! I am NOT complaining by any means--I love it!!

Marlene Slade (marlenekslade) | 4 comments I am currently working on Book II & III of The Moon God Trilogy.

Angela | 3 comments I'm between projects although my husband teases me about that book that I'm not writing, which started as a clever idea, morphed into a short story idea, and became an outline for a full-length novel during The Coffee Shop Book Tour this summer.

message 22: by Shaun (new)

Shaun Allan (singularity) | 3 comments I'm trying to concentrate on one project, but it's not easy! I've started on the sequel to Sin, but as some of you might not, he hates to be kept quiet (hence his blog) so that's no surprise.

I also have 30,000 words of a children's story I began and forgot about! Add to that my short stories The Four Wotsits of the Doodad and Zombies are People Too and I have my hands full...

That's without the regular blog entries for Sin!

I am working on a prequel to Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities. The research is fascinating, but I am writing every day too. Maybe out by spring or summer?? unless I "need" a field trip to England!
