Wendy T finished Megan's Way and Oh Boy, what an emotional book for me. I was really surprised how all secrets intertwined amongst the friends and Olivia being in the middle of them all.

I also, can relate with Megan, because my mother died at 51 of cancer and to see what how she deteriorated was so sad. My was diagnosed with cancer while I was pregnant for my first child and having high blood pressure my family didn't tell me about my mom having cancer only she was sick, but should be find. Because I was near the end of my pregnancies we stayed closed to home and planned to traveling to see my parents after my son was born. Needless to say she died one month after Dylan was born and held him only once. I know my family were thinking of me and the baby and my mom probably didn't want me to know, I still find it hard because I could of been with her to help her with her needs. After she died I was angry for awhile because I didn't get to be/help her, but over time I know why my didn't tell me about her cancer. Secrets!

I can completely understand how this book would resonate with you. Thanks for your input.

Melissa Foster (melissa_foster) | 8 comments Wendy, I'm glad Megan's journey touched you. I'm really sorry about your mom, but I am glad that you came to understand why your family kept their secret. I believe there are times that too much knowledge can hurt just as much as too little. It sounds like your mother and your family loved/loves you very much. You are very lucky, and your mother was lucky to have you as a daughter. Many family members can't get to the understanding and forgiveness end of the hurt.

Thanks for reading.

XO,
Melissa

Not my usual read, but an interesting book. I think that this book would be appropriate for a series of discussions in an academic or Sunday school class. I don't agree with all the decisions that the characters in the book made, but their decisions could serve as the jumping off point for further debate. Not bad for a self-published novel. It will be interesting to read what Melissa Foster writes next.

Melissa Foster (melissa_foster) | 8 comments Thanks, Kathleen. I have never thought of it in that light, for debate in a Sunday school class. Very intriguing, and you are right, perfect for a jumping-off point.

My next novel is in the hands of my trusted editor, Dominique. You can read a blurb about it HERE. I'm also 5 chapters into writing my fourth novel, Come Back To Me.

Melissa Foster (melissa_foster) | 8 comments I sure hope so! I won't know anything about the distribution until it is published. BTW - I'm working on the screenplay for Megan's Way now! Fingers crossed!
