Richard's Random Ramblings
Where have you rambled off to? Is there a party you didn't tell US about? Hmmmm? I am on holiday and haven't been to the bookshop yet so I am just stirring you all up a little out of sheer boredom!
BORED? On the 2nd/3rd day of your holiday? Say it isn't so, Debbie! Hie, woman, and get thee to a tienda de los libros!
Doesn't that just irritate the heck out of you? What good is all this technology if it doesn't work perfectly all the time? ;)
i want to just put it in drive and drive
is that too much to ask?
is that too much to ask?
richard did you see the movie "office space"
there is a scene about a copier

These ramblings are getting a little too random. What do you LIVE in front of the TV set, Ricardo? Come off of it! Just because there's a live Sox/Celtics Doubleheader going down at the moment (and driving your remote crazy, unless you use one of those silly Picture In Picture devices that makes one picture the size of a pillbox).
Ricardo, you still exist! In the West Wing, eh? No wonder we couldn't find you. Go West, Young Man! is far away.
I'm not a big NBA guy, either, and figure the Celtics have been average all along. It's just that teams in the NBA go through the motions most of the season. They only try when it's the playoffs. So now they're trying and we're discovering the Celts aren't as good as everyone thought they were.
I have my own '86 story, but I'm not going there.
Pick up a book, mon. Don't you read every night when you hit the sack? I do. I assumed we all did. I read the Globe's stellar review of Ted Sorensen's latest JFK reminiscences and put a request in to the library for it. It's easy to go back to Camelot and say, "Such, such were the days," even if you barely remember them and the films of it look like another country far, far away...

What Ruth said (or spelled, or whatever). Anyway, don't make me jealous by throwing that word "sun" around, cameo or not!
-- Me in Rain, Maine
-- Me in Rain, Maine
....and me in thunder (and hail, sleet and snow to 300m) Downunder.
I saw a piece about that guy on the news last night while I was propping my eyelids open waiting for the Beijing Opening Ceremony to start. The point was made that correct spelling, not phonetic approximations, is essential in legal documents to avoid confusions and complete changes of meaning. In which case it is still VERY important to teach and learn the correct spellings, no matter how lazy people might be in casual communications.

Poor Richard's Almanac of things that can go wrong. It's not fair to laugh at other people's troubles, I know, I know.
Heehee.
Heehee.
Natural gas here (no bean jokes, please) all piped in from the street. Condolences, though, Ricardo. That can't be fun. But at least you're posting again! (Uh, unless you plan to evaporate for another three months.)
yeah...missed you...and where is Tyler? and Moe has been kinda quiet since getting back from Florida?

but yes kinda quiet
very good to hear ya richard
and i think your issue is thermostat related
you said boiler so i'm assuming it's radiator heating? the baseboard type?
was the thermostat replaced when they replaced the boiler?
you could try calling the manufacturer (should be a metal plate with the info on the side of the boiler) and getting their "specs"
explain the issue and see if they'll at least give you a clue as to if it's normal behavior or not
my ex was a heating and air guy
the newer thermostats are quite difficult to set and the tech should be factory trained not some left over dude who never got the upgrade training or at least trained by someone factory trained
now buns-my first thought on your issue was that the line needs to be bled, much like brake lines, air bubbles get introduced when repairs or servicing is done and cause the furnace to need resetting
letting the oil tank run too low can cause this as well
and or the oil line has a crimp in it somewhere that is inhibiting the flow of oil
if it is the first, there is a little bleed screw located on the valve where the oil line enters the firing chamber, bleed about 1/8 cup of oil and the air issue should be resolved but maybe don't tell your furnace guy you are doing it cause they might play void the warranty game with you-or make them come out and do it and watch them, i could always pass this off as "oh i'm fascinated by your manly skills"
if it is the 2nd, it should be easy to follow the line and see if you see the crimp-only problem is, those stupid lines are ridiculously easy to break when trying to fix a crimp so if it is a signifigant crimp you may have to have the furnace dudes come replace the line
it also could be a thermostat issue
what did they service? any new parts?
now, can i advise you on how to stack cordwood? ;)?
The temperature these past few weeks has been positively late (or early) summer. Very warm, for Massachusetts. Watch your back.

Try the headphones again with Vivaldi or some other soothing classical music....Mozart should RAISE the IQ, or so I have heard!!?
There's still time, folks. For 2008 to turn around, I mean. Looking forward to some good stuff in our inaugural book discussion thread.
I'm going to bed (and hoping I don't wake up the way Dorothy did)...
Thanks for the warning. I hadn't heard.
Thanks for the warning. I hadn't heard.
Tornado warning in MA? Thought it was mainly Kansas :-)
Richard...it can't have been all bad...you're still here and rolling all your marbles!! Chin up!

Couch Potato Sunday. And they say folks who sit forever in front of computer screens are Mouse Potatoes.
My heart swells. The ONLY IBF-certified group in the whole Goodly-Read lot of them! Cool going, Ricardo. Malden, is it? Somerville? I know I've seen this sign somewhere! =)
That is sooooooooooooooooo cool!
I'm liking this winter. It reminds me of the early 60s when snow blanketed New England from November to March. Of course, I'm not having boiler problems (though my furnace died on New Year's Day -- to be repaired 10 hrs. later) and my parents are safely ensconced in South Carolina...

Good to see the R-Cubed thread, Ricardo.
