Svetlana Kovalkova-McKenna I am in the process of making bookstore style folders for every genre. Please, feel free to comment and offer suggestions here.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) What about free ebooks? Do you want them mentioned here? There are quite a few either through The Internet Archive, Project Gutenberg or Federal/State websites for gardening & such.

message 3: by Svetlana (new)

Svetlana Kovalkova-McKenna Yes, of course, we want all the free books you can think of mentioned here!

Darcia Helle (darciahelle) It would be great if members could post reviews of any of the books listed that they have read.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) Goodreads has been nominated for a Webby! The Webby's have been called "The Internet's highest honor." Goodreads is competing in the Social Networking category against top sites Twitter, Digg, Bakespace and Cute as Hell!

Head on over to the Webby site and cast your vote for Goodreads! Voting ends on April 29, so hurry!

Svetlana Kovalkova-McKenna Wow! I am not surprised. It is my favorite all about books website.

Gemma Fasheun (gemmafash) | 5 comments hello,
where can i find links to free books or ebooks?

message 8: by Darcia (new)

Darcia Helle (darciahelle) Free ebooks are listed throughout this group. All ebooks listed here range from free to 99 cents.

You can find free ebooks on www.Smashwords.com, as well as other sites. Information is found in the posts here.

Free books are mostly found in giveaways. Goodreads sponsors book giveaways all the time. They are listed under the "Find Books" section of this site. As for other giveaways, you find them through authors' sites and blogs, as well as other sites that sponsor contests and giveaways.

Gemma Fasheun (gemmafash) | 5 comments ok. thank you for informing me. most of the time i don't have money to buy books like others. and when i have people that are very close to me don't understand why i spend money on books.

message 10: by Darcia (new)

Darcia Helle (darciahelle) I've known people who didn't understand why I needed to buy so many books, though they had no problem spending their money on cigarettes, nights out drinking, etc. It's all about priorities! And I do understand not having the money. That's something many of us are dealing with these days.

Goodreads also has a Swap section, where you choose the books you want - either from your wish list or you can shop through what's available. All you pay for the books is the cost of shipping. You'll find it under the "Explore" tab at the top, then click on "Swap".

Gemma Fasheun (gemmafash) | 5 comments but "Swap" is not available for Cyprus.

Darcia Helle (darciahelle) I don't imagine many giveaways are listed for your area, either. At least you should be able to find lots of free and cheap ebooks to keep you reading. :)

Gemma Fasheun (gemmafash) | 5 comments well i love to read and write. cause i had so many ideas on my head, the only problem is the time to put them on paper and develop them into good books. i have little time and understanding from those dear to me.

message 14: by Darcia (new)

Darcia Helle (darciahelle) I'm sorry you don't get the support you need from those close to you. That makes it much harder to do what you love. There are lots of us here online to support your love of both reading and writing. I hope that helps!
