I picked up the 1st & 3rd books of this series at the library this morning. They didn't have the 2nd at all, so I'll have to put in an Inter-Library-Loan request for it.

After all the good things I heard about this series, I can't wait to start reading them!

I will! I probably won't start for a few days. I've got to finish Joan Johnston's "A Stranger's Game" and get it back to the library (it's a new release so it's got to be back quicker than normal). Plus I've got another book needing to be read and returned.

So many books to read, so little time...

Copying and pasting the new info from Carr's website about the continuation of the Virgin River series...

EASTOFOZ...when you get a chance, can you edit your original list post to include the new books?

As the summer heat reaches its peak, lots of other things are heating up. First of all — all the 2009 books in the continuing Virgin River Series are finished, edited and being prepared for print. The release is scheduled for February, March and April 2009. And they are titled SECOND CHANCE PASS, TEMPTATION RIDGE and PARADISE VALLEY. I’ll have more details about those stories along with cover art as the dates draw nearer.

A VIRGIN RIVER CHRISTMAS is ready to go, the cover is absolutely stunning, and the Advance Reader Copies are on their way to key people from booksellers to critics. At the end of the book you will find the first chapter of SECOND CHANCE PASS.

And finally, by popular demand, The Grace Valley Series is now available again with all new, beautiful cover art. At the end of each one of these Grace Valley books you’ll find the first chapter of A VIRGIN RIVER CHRISTMAS.

I am waiting out the summer heat by working hard on the seventh novel in the continuing Virgin River Series — tentatively titled FORBIDDEN FALLS. Yes, the series goes on — I have committed to three more books in the series to be released in 2010. It seems the stories are unending!

Letters from readers have had a major influence on the stories. Believe me, not only do I pay attention, but continue to be inspired. My plans have actually been altered because of readers’ reactions. I pushed a whole book out of line in order to fully explore the lives of Rick Sudder and the Mysterious Marijuana Grower — and it turned out to be my absolute favorite. You’ll see that story in PARADISE VALLEY.

The patrons of Jack’s Bar is now over 150, and not only is it fun for me to take part in readers’ discussions about the Virgin River Series, but I am enjoying the recommendations of other authors and their books. Jack’s Bar has truly become a book club — and we’ve been so lucky — many of the authors discussed have stopped by to say hello.

So, stay tuned, my friends — I am writing ferociously, and soon you will be up to your eyeballs in Virgin River Novels — new stories to continue your close relationship with your good friends from that little town in the mountains!

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) thanks Isis for the news. I haven't been to her site lately. I'm looking forward to the books.

You're welcome! I try to make rounds on author websites every so often to see what's new and that's the first update from Carr in months so I thought I'd share :) That was the only piece of interesting info I came across (unless you count me being annoyed with Joan Johnston for the fact that the next Blackthorne/Creed series book is still a ways off).

Great news from Robyn on her website about the continuation of the VR series! Not only will there be the 2010 trilogies, but also trilogies in 2011 and 2012!! Plus some novellas. Yay! We have lots of VR yet to read!

Here's the newsletter text:

September News from Robyn Carr

I realize you don’t get newsletters from me as often as you should. There are two significant reasons. First — I don’t want to waste your time reporting that I walked the dog, went on a family holiday or gained ten pounds. The second reason is more important — I have a million books to write! And I’ve been working at it — I promise. Based on the number of daily letters I get (and thank you! and keep ‘em coming!) you want to get back to Virgin River!

The community of Virgin River has become much loved by readers, and no one is more grateful than I am. MIRA Books, my publishing company, is also pleased and, after the 2009 Virgin River series spent twelve straight weeks on the New York Times Bestseller List, they wasted no time in planning for more. This thrills me — personally and because I know it’s important to you.

For the next three years, beginning in 2010, every January, February and March, we will release three new Virgin River novels. In addition to that, there will be novellas published that will take place in Virgin River or nearby but don’t have to be read in any sequence; stories that will include your friends but not a part of the ongoing story. The first novella is to be released in September in a story titled "Under the Christmas Tree" in a special Christmas anthology — THAT HOLIDAY FEELING also containing holiday novellas by Debbie Macomber and Sherryl Woods.

But there’s more. Over the next couple of years, there will also be two mainstream novels — what I prefer to call women’s fiction or “girlfriend books,” that are along the line of THE HOUSE ON OLIVE STREET. There is whispering of THE HOUSE ON OLIVE STREET being reissued and I’m crossing my fingers — the complexity of women’s lives and their relationships with their men and each other has always been a passion of mine. And writing stories with ensemble casts of characters is enormous fun.

Next month I’ll put the covers and opening chapters for the 2010 Virgin River novels — FORBIDDEN FALLS, ANGEL’S PEAK and MOONLIGHT ROAD — on my website. For now — the cover of the Christmas anthology will go up, which will be available September 29. I hope you enjoy it — it’s a happy story, filled with love and laughter and a couple of characters who will pop up in future Virgin River novels from time to time.

This has been such a rewarding journey, and so much of it has been because you let me know what characters have inspired you, and helped you with your own issues, and which characters you want to see more often. Of course I can’t fulfill every wish you send my way, but rest assured, I read and consider every one. And I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Please watch my website for new books, covers and excerpts, and check out the appearances page to see if I’ll be in your neighborhood. I’d love to meet you.

With love and gratitude,

Robyn

Kathrynn Thank you, Isis. I enjoyed "The House on Olive Street" and hope to see a VR book come out similar to it. Exciting to see that "maybe" it will be reissued as well. Great news on the upcoming books, too. Wonder what's in store for us and how big the VR community will grow....
