I'm not going to set a goal but just keep track of everything I read in 2010. I'd like to know what my total is at the end of the year and sometimes I add books in my read list that I read a while ago and don't remember exactly when so i just use the default date:

I can't figure out why it took me longer to read this collection of short stories than to read Under The Dome which is almost 3 times longer. January's been a slow month reading wise.

I've read half of the books you've chosen so far, and really loved both of them. Look at it as quality, not quantity!

I saw on my update feed that not only do you have a new boyfriend, but he's cool enough to give you Zombieland for your anniversary! Score.:)

Yes, he is rather awesome...and deserves gifts himself...He also bought me something for Valentine's day but he said that'll probably just make me laugh. Men need to be easier to shop for! hehe or I just need to get out more.

As far as gifts go, women definitely seem easier to please. Zombieland made me laugh right out of my seat at the theatre, so I can't imagine what he has in store for Valentine's. Sounds like a keeper;)

especially valentine's day gifts when you've been dating less than a month. I'd be happy with flowers, chocolates and stuffed animals but those are so girl oriented.

Good plan! On a note actually related to books, what did you think of Anansi Boys and Watchmen?

Anansi Boys is funny and entertaining but I kind of expected it to be darker. Watchmen was pretty good, interesting how Moore weaves all this other stuff like fake news articles and stuff into the main plot. I just found out that my library has a graphic novel discussion group and is discussing Watchmen on 3/22.

Rachel how do you like Joe Hill's books? I thought I might give one a try, if he is not to strange, like his Pops. I am not into horror much,but are Hill's books to bizarre?

If you want to read Joe Hill but don't really like horror, I'd start with 20th Century Ghosts, his collection of short stories. The first story is straight horror but then a lot of the stories are just fantastical stories about relationships.

Nah, Heart Shaped was pretty scary though, Horns is more bizarro/Stand by me-esque/suspense so you could try Horns too.

I think HSB was scary in a very "dirty" way. Not sexually dirty, but gritty dirty. Not horror, though.
