message 1: by Lenore (new)

Lenore (lenorenrr) A simple one to start off the year.

There are a few categories for this one:
Winter: You must read one book with winter in the title. The book could also be set in the winter time.
Place: The setting must be somewhere cold. (Ex: Maine, Russia, Alaska...)
JANUARY: Pick two letters from the word January. The title of the book must start with one, and the author's name must start with the other. (This is a 2 book category.)
New beginnings: You must pick a book you have been recommended.
Resolutions: Make a book New Year's resolution (I want to read only books I have already bought...etc.) and choose one book that fits in that resolution. Please state what your resolution is.

This challenge is a total of 6 books. Rereads are acceptable for some categories.

Arcadia Barrile (braintasiabooks) It's an anthology with stories from in between books in the authors' series, so nope.

Tara | 35 comments Gem H aka *Dhelirious* wrote: "Tara, may I suggest a book set in Scotland as its frigging freezing here just now!"

I've got all the Higlander Series which I believe takes place in Scotland or else they really shouldn't be called the Highlander books, but the way my luck is going it will probably all take place during summer in the middle of a heat wave...

message 39: by Lenore (new)

Lenore (lenorenrr) Highlander... Which series?

message 40: by Tara (new)

Tara | 35 comments Karen Marie Moning.

message 42: by Shanon (new)

Shanon (boban) Lenore wrote: "Have you read her Fever series? To die for. "

I'm definately dying over the cliff hanger endings!! I can't wait until the last books comes out.

message 43: by Lenore (new)

Lenore (lenorenrr) Me either. It is killing me to find out who the beast is. Better not be Barrons. Whew that man is a fiction sex god! There is not even a release date for Shadowfever :(

message 44: by Tara (new)

Tara | 35 comments Shanon wrote: "I'm definately dying over the cliff hanger endings!! I can't wait until the last books comes out."

aaand that's why I haven't read the Fever series yet. I keep hearing about this cliff hanger and frankly my brain can't take it. So until the last book has been released and is in my possession, I REFUSE to read the Fever Series. From what I hear the next book is the last, right. I look forward to taking them all in.

message 45: by Lenore (new)

Lenore (lenorenrr) Yes it is. Luckily it is supposed to be like 700 pages long! I don't blame you. Had I known I might have waited too... Na.

message 46: by Shanon (new)

Shanon (boban) I would've waited as well and as bad as it sounds I would encourage anyone else to wait. The books almost end mid scene - SO ANNOYING but I just couldn't stop reading them once I started.

Thanks. I may take you up on that, but there is almost 3 weeks left to this month, surely, I must be able to read one book where they don't talk about the heat. It seems like it shouldn't be that difficult. LOL!
