Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) coffee every morning. I take cream and sugar in mine. lol

You are doing a great job and can't really think of anything except maybe more polls and maybe a challenge for members to find the right man for our heroes (pics of models that you think look like our fave heroes)

message 3: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments LOL! Great ideas. I'm working on polls, but feel free to start one if one comes to mind! Thanks, Pamela.

message 11: by Bekah, Fellow Kleypasaholic (new)

Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments See if you can do something about her finishing her books quicker. Sorta like Nora Roberts. I swear that woman is a speed demon. How does she manage to write so quickly??? I'm not a fan of hers but I am a fan of how quickly those books come out. So whisper in Lisa's ear Danielle!

message 12: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments I wish. I haven't worked up the nerve to contact her personally. If I ever do, I wil pass that along. I wonder how some writers write so fast, and others, just don't. LOL.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok, I think we need a CRAVING CRAVEN thread in the Heros section! Derek Draven IS one of the best afterall!

message 14: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments There's a section for Derek. It's called Derek Craven's Girls.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

ok, so I'm a ditz!

message 16: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments You're not a ditz at all, Heidi. I am going to add that to the title. We have a lot of threads so they can get lost. I'm going to post some navigation tips.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

How'bout a section for other authors you(we) like? Not as well as LK of course, but those that are definatley worth reading. you know, like a Similiar Authors to LK or something like that. And PLEASE forgive me if it already here and I just don't know it...LOL

message 18: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 02, 2010 06:55AM) (new)

Ok, I just finished Secrets of a Summer Night for the 2nd time and Simon has some great quotes....(so did Lillian)..

So, how'bout a section to post favorite quotes or lines from LK's characters?

message 19: by Bekah, Fellow Kleypasaholic (new)

Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments Good idea!! I like it. Lady Jayne will be awesome with this section!

message 20: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments Awesome idea.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey danielle....we have a section on Book Storage to share where we keep our books....how'bout a place to share pictures of where we read...like a favorite chair etc? Just an idea I thought I'd thro at ya early this AM.

message 22: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments Great idea, Heidi. Will create your thread for it!

message 23: by Lisarenee (new)

Lisarenee | 392 comments So I'm reading all these historical novels and notice there are quite a few words & terms that are uncommon like fortnight, blue stocking, bird of paradise(harlot), etc. Does anyone think a thread that is like a historical dictionary would interest anyone? Also, does anyone know what Sandlewood smells like? I hear it so often to describe the scent of a man in these books and have no idea what it smells like.

Actually there is a thread for dictionary in The Folder For Higher Education :)

Lady Jayne *~*The Beach Bandida*~* (ladyjayne) | 400 comments We use fortnight all the time! ^_^ And I do know what sandalwood smells like. I have a sandalwood fan with an oriental painting on it. Hmm...it's hard to describe what it smells like, Lisa. I really like the scent. Can you not get stuff made of sandalwood over there?

message 26: by Lisarenee (last edited Feb 11, 2010 02:00PM) (new)

Lisarenee | 392 comments Thanks Pamela. I did a search of the group for dictionary and didn't find anything. Maybe I misspelled it?

message 27: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Lisarenee, here's the link. http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/2...

Post your question there and someone will either know the answer or look it up for you. If YOU find the answer, please post it there :) I'll post the answer to fortnight there.

I agree with Lady Jayne, sandalwood is kind of hard to describe, maybe sort of a woodsy, musky scent. It's not really like anything else I've smelled before.

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 900 comments Julie (Mom2lnb) wrote: "maybe sort of a woodsy, musky scent"

I agree. And it is a smell that is hard to describe!

 Lady Jayne *~*The Beach Bandida*~* (ladyjayne) | 400 comments It's a sweet woodsy musky smell. ^_^

message 31: by Bekah, Fellow Kleypasaholic (new)

Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments It's a strong odor, not much to my liking unfortunately. But maybe it comes in various levels of potency...maybe what I had was just too much.

You know...I don't care what Gage decided to wear, if it was sandalwood, I wouldn't pause to chastise him as i tore his clothes off.

I think they tend to have it in the stores like Pier One Imports.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

I think Yankee Candle has a sandalwood scented candle.

Hmm, yes, some can be very potent and overpowering. I like the more subtle ones. The decorative fan I have is very subtle and I just love smelling it.

And why am I not surprised to see Gage's name on Bekah's fingertips? ^_^

message 35: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments Yeah, Bekah and her Gage obsession. I think she needs an intervention!

message 36: by Bekah, Fellow Kleypasaholic (new)

Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments Hahaha. I can't help it. I just got done with SD this week and now I'm reading Kylemore's crazy obsession, I felt like there was still room for me to go farther in mine.

Thank god he's not real, or i'd find some deserted backwards hunting lodge to demand his services!

message 37: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments Is Kylemore winning you over? I can understand obsession when it comes to him. He's one of mine!

Lady Jayne *~*The Beach Bandida*~* (ladyjayne) | 400 comments Okay, you've piqued my interest. Who is this Kylemore and where might I make his acquaintance?

message 39: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments Kylemore is the mentally unstable but completely compelling hero of Claiming the Courtesan by Anna Campbell by Anna Campbell. He's my Gage, if I was Bekah. LOL!

Lady Jayne *~*The Beach Bandida*~* (ladyjayne) | 400 comments Okay, will need to meet him soonish then. Thanks, D!

message 41: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments You're welcome, Jayne. Then you can hopefully join the Crazy for Kylemore Club and not the Why Do These Ninnies Love Kylemore So Much Club. :)

 Lady Jayne *~*The Beach Bandida*~* (ladyjayne) | 400 comments There's 2 different clubs? Oooohhh...Well, we'll wait and see then. ^_^

message 43: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments I'm hoping you'll join the former. :)

message 44: by Bekah, Fellow Kleypasaholic (new)

Bekah (bekah317) | 2750 comments I'm still in the beginning, where he supposedly feels remorse for being an ass, but not enough to stop treating her like crap. However, I have read Tempt the Devil by Anna Campbell so I do know he gets over himself eventually.

message 45: by Lisarenee (last edited Feb 12, 2010 04:03PM) (new)

Lisarenee | 392 comments I just read about Kylemore today! *sigh* Claiming of the Courtesan. Definitely a worth while Kleypas substitute. I didn't think he was mentally unstable, he just had issues with things from his past. Yes, he does start out being a jerk, but later mellows out. By the time I got to the end I kind of forgot about how awful he was.

Thanks gals for helping with the Sandalwood. I'll have to check out Yankee Candle and see if I can find a Sandalwood candle in their collection. Would be nice to know what this scent smells like.

I guess I'm somewhere in between. I liked it but I wasn't overly wowed. But I have my obsessions too... they are secret and I cannot reveal them... (sighing as I think my my obsessions)

message 47: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments Okay, now we want to know, Pamela!

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Danielle "The Book Huntress" wrote: "Okay, now we want to know, Pamela!"

lol No, I won't tell! torture won't work!

ok, I have an obsession on a few fellers... Brodick from Ransom, several of Lisa Kleypas' heroes (Sebastion, Ross, Harry, Marcus, Derek...), All of Lisa Marie Rice's Midnight heroes, Wolf MacKenzie of Mackenzie's Mountain, Duke of Hawkscliffe from The Duke, Race from Cherish....

message 49: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments WE share some common obsessions, Pamela. It's all good!

message 50: by Jess (new)

Jess | 21 comments Hi everyone!! I've been getting into Kleypas writing more and more and Danielle suggested I join this group. I've been looking around through the threads, and the one thing I can suggest is that in the series discussions, the threads are listed by the name of the series. Which is fine, but in the threads themselves it's hard to locate the names of the books that make up that series.

Maybe list the titles of the books in the first thread with the cover art. All the discussions open with a question, but someone like me who doesn't really know which books belong to which series or family, I don't know what to read first, or which books people are talking about.

Just a suggestion!
