Before What I Did For Love, I'd never read a Susan Elizabeth Phillips book. I really did enjoy this one. The love scenes were hotter than I thought they would be, although I must say, I'm used to hotter love scenes. I loved the hero. He was an 'ass' at the beginning and they despised each other. But of course that changes and I love when the h/h go from that to love... Would definitely read another one from her.
What I Did for Love by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

Patricia | 7 comments I read WHAT I DID FOR LOVE when it first came out. It was the first of her books I've read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There are two earlier books about character in this book. She said it wasn't a series and it is true the book is a stand alone, however, I'd like to know their stories. I don't read many contemporary romances, but am glad I read this one. It was interesting to see how the bad boy had matured.

Patricia | 7 comments Forgot to mention what I'm reading. I'm listening to Tony Hillerman's FIRST EAGLE. I'm reading THE ANGEL by Carla Neggers, THE LIGHTENING THIEF by Riordan, and ECLIPSE by Meyer (I'm a children's librarian). Will have to toss a coin to see which historical I'll get to read next.

message 4: by Calila (new)

Calila I'm reading Dear John-Nicholas Sparks. The trailers for the movie look good so I needed to read the book before seeing the movie.

But doesn't someone always die at the end of his books?

I just ordered this book. I can't wait to read it.

Harlequin Books (harlequinbooks) | 5 comments I've picked it as one of my "Read with Me" Books (something new I started this month). Hopefully you get your copy soon so you can read along with me. Although if you just ordered, I'll probably have finished before you get it. I'm holding myself to 4-5 chapters a day (very difficult!) but it would have to be fast shipping. Here is a link to my "Read with Me" discussion.

Okay, I just finished reading Just the Sexiest Man Alive and while the story kept me completely turning the pages, I have to say I was sooooo disappointed that this book, heat level-wise, could have been an inspirational. I wanted heat. I didn't get heat. Sigh.

See the Lakeshore books are hit and miss with me. Some of them I liked and others were just ok.

Harlequin Books (harlequinbooks) | 5 comments Well, until this month I was working closely with the Harlequin Historical line so I'm not familiar with past titles in the Lakeshore books. I can say without question that I am really enjoying The Summer Hideaway. It is a very emotional read. The character George has terminal cancer and has been told he won't last much longer.

That's cool. I read up to Lakeshore Christmas. Now I do like the Daisy story line. Though she was a teen at the beginning. I like all of the drama with her. I find myself focusing on her more than the main characters in certain books :)

Susan Wiggs wrote a letter to the readers at the end of The Summer Hideaway letting us know that she knows there are many question about her and that her story is next. :)
