What crazy kindness did you commit today?

Well the kind thing I did today was help my grandmother's friend plant things in her garden. She loves to garden but gets tired a lot easier these days. When I told her it was for Luthiel and for her too, she asked me if it was a video game. I just smiled.

Beth G (alligayda) | 6 comments I didn't really commit crazy kindness today, but I've committed crazy kindness in my time. I used to live in the city and oddly, I found it easier there. So I thought I'd post some things I've done to give some of you city folk some ideas and get you going. I lived in a state that had the 5 cent deposit on cans and bottles. we had a dumpster in the parking lot next to our house, that I noticed one particular man used to frequent early in the morning. I had a lot of cans and rather than take them back to the store, I dragged them down to the dumpster, 3 big garbage bags, and left them leaning up against the dumpster, not in the dumpster, so he wouldn't have to climb in. And sure enough the next morning I saw him with a shopping cart full of cans and a big smile on his face.
I've paid parking meters that were about to expire randomly before the meter maid got to them.
One Christmas long ago I worked at a donut shop that was on some railroad tracks. We used to see people out there warming themselves by a fire in a trash can. I worked on Christmas eve, a coworker and myself decided that rather than throw all the donuts out, like we we suppossed to, we boxed them all up. We had a few thermoses lying around that we weren't selling anymore, we put tea in one and coffee in the other. We also had a bunch of coats and hats and gloves and scarves that people had left behind and didn't come back for. We put all of the stuff outside the back door for the people who used to hangout back there. On Christmas morning I drove by the donut shop, I saw a man walking down the street with one of the coats and a pair of pink gloves that we had put out, holding one of the thermoses eating a donut, smiling. That was the best Christmas gift I've ever recieved.
Anyone have random acts of kindness ideas for country folk?
