Under this folder you can post books and authors from various countries and minority groups, as well as historical countries and minority groups. General discussion on countries is welcome here.

message 6: by Peanut (new)

Peanut | 25 comments Um actually it we had to read it for my french class last year. Its about a blind girl and a pastor and his family that takes her in after her grandmother dies. but its really weird.

Kate (katemreads) | 46 comments I think that's a good idea, reading books in a different language. I'm going to try it soon with a book in Spanish. However, it'll probably be one that I have so I can referance back to it instead of getting a dictionary every few seconds.

message 12: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) thats good, i think.im glad my computer has a dictionary, i used to go there every 5 minutes, but now, hardly ever

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) | 300 comments I read a book that had been translated over from Spanish to English by a Carlos Ruiz Zafón. It was titled The Shadow of the Wind. I loved it, but I did not care for its prequel. He has the most amazing sense of imagry of any writer I've read. Paints a wonderful picture of 1945 Barcelona Spain
