I know that this movie wasn't based on a book but it seems that it needs a spot. Globalization is an important topic. How did you like the movie?

I would still like to see it.

I just saw this movie last Friday and really liked it. I honestly didn't know what I would think, and was suprized I liked it as much as I did. It graphics were really great and the story line was creative and original.

The graphics were great. I heard the 3D movie was even better. I'm going to have to look for one close to me and try to join all of the action.

I really want to see it, but we're trying to save money for our Disney World trip this summer, so there are still a bunch of movies that I haven't seen.

I absolutely LOVED this movie and I can't wait to buy it when it comes out on DVD. If anyone goes to see this movie, they need to see it in 3-D because it is awsome.

DVD, absolutely. I wonder if they will make it 3D and toss in those nifty glasses?

LOL, can you believe I saved mine and my husbands from the movie - they weren't the cheap kind, they look like real sun glasses so I kept them just incase they do put that DVD in 3D. I hope they do.

I saw it in 3D and thought it made it better. The 3D is a lot better now and it doesn't hurt the eyes anymore.

This morning I heard that it is official, Avatar has made more money then Titanic. It is now know as the best movie. Sorry, Jack & and Rose!

That was the one thing I worry about with the 3D movie. Sometime it is such a strain for my eyes. Ronda, looks like you got a great pair. Always good to reuse :)

The movie was visually incredible. But I've seen Pocahontas and Fern Gully before so it ruined the ending.

I'm sorry but it's a movie that I wouldn't pay much to see. Yes, the visuals look incredible and the music won a grammy, I think. Basically, from what I've seen through trailers, it's about humans who want some sort of rare stone/rock thing that's lots of money and the Avatar's homes are on top of it all so a guy goes undercover and turns blue in order to make it happen?. It's not my kind of movie. I guess I want to see it a little, based off of the reviews it's getting but I'll see it at a friends house when it comes out.

I saw it and the special effects were fantastic. The plot, not so much. It really was the basic plot of Pocahontas, with a few other additions. Kate, there's a lot besides the "goes undercover and turns blue". Character-wise and setting-wise, it's fantastic. I saw it in IMAX 3D and don't think that it would be the same at home. But we'll see.

Yeah it was pretty awesome in 3D. I love people's preconceived ideas about things. Makes me giggle.

The only relation I get to Pocahontas is that Indigenous Peoples are being taken advantage of and overtaken because of their natural resources. Most of what people know of Pocahontas isn't true. Pocahontas wasn't even her name, just a nickname. She didn't marry John Smith, it was John Rolfe and she was 14 and not beautiful. That is all american romanticized nonsense. The movie was good for me because the theme needs to be put out their and be recognized. Our natural resources will be depleted in my life time.... then what? It scares the crap out of me for my boys.

I've seen the movie in IMAX 3D and I agree that the special effects are amazing, but the characters and plot don't appeal to me much, though everyone else I know loves the film.

Making fun of avatar and Disney Pocahontas. It reminds me of one of those Mad Libs pads. LOL!

I was shocked how much I liked this movie it was amazing

I think I'll watch this one again and see how I feel after I forgot about some of the action and plot scenes.

One of my friends called it a cross between Fern Gully and something else(wasn't Pocahantas) and I didn't get it until I saw the movie. However, I also saw it in 3D and thought it was worth it.

I loved Pocohantas when I was young, even when I knew she was extremely romanticized (My parents liked to emphasize that whenever I watched it). So I thought I'd love Avatar as well, the special effects were amazing, and I would watch that movie again, just to see the beautiful world created by James Cameron, however, it just wasn't my thing. I didn't really care for any of the characters, except for Siguorney (sp?) Weaver's role, but it was probably the ending that ruined it for me. I just felt like it was really predictable and I honestly have never cared for excessive violence in movies. It gets really boring after a while for me.

We just watched the movie two days ago, and I loved it. It was a lot different than I thought it would be. The blue people (Omaticaya) fascinated me so much that afterwards I made my signature on my phone: *omaticaya* Lol :)

my husband went to the see this in the theater with his brother because i was only lukewarm on seeing it. when he came home, he told me, "I think you'd really like it." i watched it this weekend and i did really enjoy it. i think the parallels to native americans vs. the white man are unmistakable. but i also think you can apply this to any set of people marginalized in their own country by any group that comes in and thinks they are superior. i also found the interest in the element found in the forest similar to the U.S.'s dependency on oil garnered in the middle east.

great story. my husband said there are two more in the series and the second will focus on the water tribes.

I saw this late. And I wasn't expecting it to live up to the hype. But, it was really good! Not "good", as in a masterpiece, but "good" as in really freakin' fun to watch!!! We watched it in 3D, and it was just awesome. And, it had a good message. Hopefully, some people heard that message and were moved in some way to make a change.

I bought this movie and my boys have been watching this movie at least once a week. I didn't think I could get sick of this movie. Just like Potter, How many times can you watch a movie before you are sick of it?

Ahaha I don't know, but I definietly have watched Harry Potter A LOT! And I'm not sick of it yet.

I loved this movie. I kept hearing that the effects were great, but the story was weak, but I thought the story was terrific. I saw it on my tv (alas, I couldn't get to the theater when it was there), so didn't see it in 3D. I wonder if the 3D was so overwhelming that the story was lost. But I will definitely watch it over and over.
