Another One Bites the Dust by Jennifer Rardin

I don't know! I have to go back and write that list sometime.

Welcome to this group!!
I see that you read Charlaine Harris!! What did you think of the Harper Connelly books? I have read that series and the Sookie series and the Aurora Teagarden series and my favorite is the Aurora Series, with Harper coming in a VERY close second. Though I just read a Sookie book and was sucked back into that world VERY quickly again!! :-)
@Joy...they DO get better with each book. The writing gets deeper and much more personal. I have read up to the current one and I think the newer ones are really the best in the series!

I really enjoyed the Harper Connelly series, but I still prefer the Southern Vampire series. That may have more to do with the fact that I read so much more Science Fiction than I do Mystery. I plan on trying her Aurora Teagarden books as well, but I have at least a dozen other series in line before it. If you like the Sookie books, I always suggest Patricia Briggs' Mercedes Thompson series. It's one of my absolute favorites in the genre.

She has a couple of books in the Southern Vampire series that I felt were less substantial, a bit of filler, but for the most part, it develops very well. Compelling and a lot of fun. I've really enjoyed it.

Firespell (Dark Elite Book 1) by Chloe Neill

Agreed. I think the author's writing style put me off. I didn't feel invested in the characters. I'm going to try the second book in the series since there are quite a few and they were recommended to me by a reliable source, but I'm not holding my breath for Vampire Babylon...

Surrender Dorothy by R.G. Alexander
Because these are only novellas (free trashy romance on my Nook) I'll only count them as one.

I understand why a lot of people do not like this book. It's dominated by fear and desperation and ignorance. It's filled with characters you pity and fear for, but are never sure you like. And that's why I really enjoyed it. In Carrie Ryan's post-apocalyptic zombie-filled world you as the reader are longing for hope, just like the characters are, and whether or not there is any is up for grabs.

I liked this one but liked the sequel "Dead Tossed Waves" even more. The second one features Mary's daughter Gabry and I found it really suspenseful. I definitlely will read the third one when it comes out.
