You can read what The Clarion Review said about this novel on the link below to the Amazon site, and look inside the book as well. I'm suggesting the site, not to sell it (although that would be nice) but because it has so much information on it. I'll be very happy to hear from you about my book."

Hi Harrie Rose,

Thank you for introducing yourself and for telling us more about your book.

Having your book published without advance notice --- WOW, that doesn't sound good, at all! I wonder if that is the usual policy with Amazon/Booksurge? Hopefully not!

Therapy: A Novel, sounds like a very interesting read. I think that I could enjoy reading it while sitting on our over-stuffed sofa, with a nice, hot cup of coffee. :-)

All My Best,

Lee Pritchett (lee_pritchett) | 1 comments Hi everyone. My name is Lee Pritchett and my first children's paperback was launched in april.

'The Tale of Greta Gumboot and Other Stories’ contains a collection of magical, illustrated fairytale / children's fantasy stories about the adventures of brave (and not so brave) boys, girls, wizards, witches and talking animals. The tales are set in strange and wonderful worlds, sparkling with magic. There’s also a selection of rhyming stories in the collection, like poetry that will hopefully provoke the odd bout of joyous laughter and the occasional gasp of surprise. These include some of my favourites the Epheline stories. He’s a very magical animal who is part cat, part elephant, particularly cute, furry and purple as they come. He loves cakes and has the ability to let out a magical musical whistle, which sends children safely to sleep back in their own soft, warm beds. He prefers only to come out at night and is about to make some wonderful new friends in the woods and the park. The story collection is aimed at boys and girls ranging in age from five years old to nine, though younger children can still enjoy being read to from the book. There’s plenty of fun and adventures for any child. My magical book is available in paperback and in ebook form on the amazon kindle.

Visit http://www.leepritchett.co.uk/Greta.htm for more info, a book excerpt and some sample illustrations(I am also the books illustrator). Any reviews would be gratefully recieved. Thankyou.

My publisher is a small press called chipmunkapublishing.

Don't you get tired of authors taking about their books? It seems so pushy after awhile; a lot of GR readers agree. You have a web site, use it. Spend your GR time making friends, letting readers get to know you. THAT sells books.

Cara Lee (caralopezlee) | 6 comments Haha, Jeffrey. "They Only Eat Their Husbands" is named for another species in which the female eats her mate: the praying mantis. Cara Lee (caralopezlee) | 6 comments Thanks for your interest, John. Wild and youthful years are the ones to spend in Alaska, I think. I hear you on having time to read. My "to-read" list is growing much faster than my "finished reading" list. I hope you'll let me know what you think when you do get around to it.

I checked out your synopsis of "When Wolf Comes," and I'm intrigued. I love historical fiction, and I'm working in that genre myself right now. It's now on my aforementioned to-read list. :)

Jerome Peterson | 3 comments I too have written an adventure novel titled, "Thumb Flagging". It is a coming of age story of a young man with the American landscape as the backdrop. I have also written a paranormal romance titled "The Haunting of Andrew Sharpai". This story deals with the phrase 'not everything is as it seems' in particular inner strength and beauty is more attractive and stronger than what is outside our shells. My current novel is titled "Leaving Family Behind" introducing you to two siblings from early 20th century who conceive life long dreams and pursue them no matter what the cost. This historic novel involves rail and steamship travel; Ellis Island in its heyday; labor agents; ragtime & classic music, bohemianism; and farming.

Cara Lee (caralopezlee) | 6 comments Jerome, your books sound like a series of Odysseys, in the original sense. All stories are journeys, but I think I like books involving literal journeys the best. "...classic music, bohemianism, and farming": you're so funny.

Well everyone, with the drama's in the later part of the year now over, it now looks like an 'official' release in early January, including the online shops, Amazon, Barnes Noble, Borders, Books are us, etc.etc.

I have received so, so many inquiries about this book & I hope no one has lost interest while waiting, I for one, am soooooo! looking forward to holding one in my hands.

My book is a journey for the reader, showcasing my humble beginings in writing, almost 4 years ago, to the way I have improved to what I am writing today. Some of my early works include mistakes, erratic metre, & same sounding, but, non- rhyming words, even though this did not detract from my 1st book being quite a big seller, in Australia & worldwide. I'm not afraid to show my mistakes as I hope the 'closet' writers out there can see that anyone (even an uneducated person like me) can be successful in the literary world.

Sheila Hendrix (sheilahendrix) The Betrayal
Synopsis

When Zachariah and Matthew McCannon were young, their parents abandoned them, leaving Zack to take care of his little brother, Matt. Though they lived with their grandmother, she was always sick, so Zack was forced to raise him. This was not an easy task.
Zack had his hands full because of Matt’s unusual powers. He has visions and dreams that come true, and when he gets angry or upset, he can move things with his mind. Because of this, evil seeks him, keeping Zack on his toes as his protector.
As the brothers grew older, they became hunters, pursuing evil supernatural forces. After Matthew has a dream, it sends them on a hunt for cave, not knowing why, but realizing it is necessary. When they arrive, Matt finds the vision was a trap.
A Darkness like no other wants to control Matt and kill Zack. The Darkness is named, Alanya, which means, The Destroyer.
Alanya hates the brothers. In the past, every time he tried to apprehend Matt, Zack would thwart him by protecting his brother. Alanya is incensed that a mere human boy can beat him, for demons are not to be defied.
When Alanya asks Zack, “How far will you go to save your brother?” Zack answers, “As far as I have to.”
Now, the brothers are faced with a deadly force they never had to deal with before. This demon is on a deadly mission to destroy everything the brothers hold dear. If the McCannon’s are not careful, neither of them will be able to escape.

Book one of The Dark Circle Book series, The Betrayal by Sheila Hendrix.

Audrey | 2 comments This sounds like fun. I write about secrets and baggage. I can't get enough. It flows through all my stories, short and novel-length.

The novel I have out right now is called Poles Apart. It's about family, about secrets and the damage that secrets can do, even over generations.

CHAIM SCHLESSEL lost his family to the Holocaust more than sixty years ago. He vowed to embrace life and protect his own wife and children from his painful memories and harrowing experiences. Finding solace in his family, his painting and the healing effects of his wife's cooking, he has kept his nightmares at bay. But when a new neighbor unwittingly triggers the terrors of his past, Chaim is faced with the horrors that increasingly haunt his soul and threaten his sanity. DAVID SCHLESSEL, grown, married and successful, is plagued by the always taboo subject of his father's suffering at the hands of the Nazis. As a second generation survivor, he struggles with his father's unwillingness to discuss the past and his own inability to communicate with those he loves. With his marriage falling apart and his relationship with his own children deteriorating, David, after numerous false starts, ultimately vows to conquer his inner turmoil. UNITED BY a history they cannot discuss, yet starkly alone in their private struggles, father and son confront their demons as well as one another in a stand-off that will change them both forever.

My WIP is called Women's Work. It's full of secrets and baggage as well. I can't wait to bring these four characters into the world for your consideration.

message 35: by Kelli (new)

Kelli Sullivan | 1 comments Hello Everyone,

I have two books to tell you about.

The first is my children's book called "Rocket to the Moon -ISBN: 978-1-4568-2460-0".

Rocket to the Moon is an uplifting story about using your imagination. Toby loves rocket ships and dreams of going to the moon one day. He turns to his father to find out if it would ever be possible for him to get to the moon. Follow Toby as he journey's to the moon using his imagination, with the help of his parents and his little sister Kayla.

The Second is a novel called "Ice In My Veins - ISBN-10: 1452085331,ISBN-13: 978-1452085333".

When a 16 year old, small town girl, Christine Matthews, from Dryden, Michigan gets a shot at playing semi- professional hockey on a boys hockey team she jumps at the opportunity.

Follow her ups and downs as she tackles some of lives hardships, surprises, and victories as she reaches out to catch her dreams. Journey with her as she struggles through some of life's tough situations, as well as love and loss.

Her story is inspirational to people every where who feel their dreams are unreachable.

Christine wants one thing in her life, hockey. Nothing would ever mean more to her than that. She had worked so hard for it without the support of her friends and family. When she meets Alex her world starts to change.

Why was she so enticed by this boy. She had to stop thinking about how gorgeous he was. He would be running for the exits as soon as he found out what she was doing there. She noticed that her palms were starting to sweat, she wiped them on her jeans, before he noticed. She wanted to hate him. She couldn't have these type of distractions around her. She needed to be focused on the prize.

Then there was Moose. What would she do without him? This couldn't be happening right now, not to her. She still had her stalker to deal with. The hatred he had for her, in those deep black coal eyes. Was her life about to spiral out of control?

Hi all!
Im Carole Gill and I'd like to tell you about my novel.
The House on Blackstone Moor print version can be preordered at Ebookundead.
http://ebookundead.com/the-house-on-b...

It is also on Smashwords £2.99
http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/...

It is a darkly intense literary horror novel. The themes are vampirism, madness, obsession and devil worship. It is set in 19th Century England. Both supernatural and human evil are discussed. Rose Baines, discovers her mad, incestuous father has slaughtered himself and her entire family and that's in the first paragraph! Did I say dark?!!!

Anyway, due to reader response I am writing the sequel, Unholy Testament which will be published by Vamplit later this year.

It is just that, it is the journal of an immortal being who calls Satan, 'Father Satan.' He is none other than the outrageous, campy but deliciously evil demon spawn, Eco.

Much of the action is set aboard a luxury transatlantic steamer. Onboard are the weirdest bunch of passengers you're ever likely to run into!

There are shocks, surprises and hideous discoveries along the way! I'm having a lot of fun writing it!

By the way:
This link will take you to my blog to read some of the professional reviews I've had. the book has been compared to Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre. I couldn't be more proud.

If you do follow the link below, you can access of the reviews my book novel has gotten.

message 46: by Charles (new)

Charles Blanchard Hello all. My name is Charles Blanchard and I wanted to let you know of my debut novel, Mourning Doves After The Fire.

Set against the backdrop of 1910 Pennsylvania, this new novel is a story of love and loss, of passion and tragedy, and of the triumph of the spirit in both man and beast.

Twenty-eight-year-old Abby Whitman is a secretary with an interest in classical music. She pays a visit to Dr. Raymond Fletcher, whom she secretly fancies, and he gives her the unfortunate news that she has cancer. Devoted to help Abby, Dr. Fletcher seeks the aid of a renowned doctor who has apparently discovered an experimental treatment that has proven to eradicate cancer. Abby now becomes under Dr. Fletcher’s personal care and an appreciation for each other develops while her prognosis remains uncertain. During a camping trip, Abby befriends a young girl, named Madison, a talented pianist who shares with Abby an interest in classical music. This brief friendship will provide a dramatic change in Abby’s life.

At 211 pages, the novel moves quickly and there are many interesting characters including Abby’s neighbors Giny Kramer and her two sons, Michael and Eric; Henry Corrigan, the son of Abby’s employer; Mrs. Haversham, a former school teacher; Ella Horn, a juvenile housebreaker and Zachariah, her grandfather; and finally the tragic figure of Ivanhoe Miller.

The story also contains a fabled subplot involving a widowed mourning dove and her bird neighbors who nest in the large oak tree near Abby’s house. As the human story develops, so does the challenge and resolve of the birds as their own existence is threatened. The birds serve as a witness to the human story around them as well as their own.

Poignant, gripping, and heartrending, Mourning Doves After The Fire will definitely touch the readers’ hearts.
