Kasia Hey, it's march and nobody's protesting there's no thread? What gives?

Ok, now that I'm done with that. Back to books. I've been busy and hardly reading, but I did finish the latest Kim Harrison over the weekend, go "Black Magic Santion"! (I had a good time, can't you tell?)

message 2: by Mel W (new)

Jezi (wjrockafellow) I started Hunting The Hunter by Shiloh Walker last night. I have been reading the hunter's series in order. It is a pretty good series.

message 6: by Julianna (new)

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 1888 comments I just started There's Always Chocolate! by Abby Irish. It's supposed to be a romantic comedy, but it seems to have a bit of a chick-lit vibe too.

message 7: by colleen (new)

colleen (colleenfl) | 458 comments I'm reading Archangel's Kiss by Nalini Singh. It's good but I like her other series better.

message 8: by VMom (new)

VMom (votermom) | 10 comments I just finished A Matter of Class, a sweet novella by Mary Balogh.

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Started March with two books that were left-over from last month challenges:

Mr. Perfect from FAC challenge and The Time Traveler's Wife from Pick-it-for-Me challenge.

So far both books are holding my interest pretty well.

message 17: by Sandra (new)

Sandra | 4260 comments Just finished Big Bad Wolf (The Others, #8) by Christine Warren for the Women We Love Challenge and I think I'll try Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs (Jane Jameson, #1) by Molly Harper next, for the same challenge. Thanks Nita for inspiring me.

I hope you enjoy it Sandra! I found it a funny light read.

message 19: by Alexandria (new)

Alexandria (airdnaxelA) | 5 comments I just finished Magic Under Glass by Jaclyn Dolamore a few days ago and it was pretty good and it looks like there will be a sequel because the auther left us with a bit of a cliffhanger. Eeeevil author :)

Amy ~Lover of Books~ | 957 comments Today, I finished Wicked Game by Lisa Jackson and I am going to read The Dark Divine by Bree Despain next.

message 21: by Susan (new)

Susan | 15 comments Just finished Love Bites The Mammoth Book of Vampire Romance 2 by Trisha Telep . It was a good mix of short stories, but so many stories they started to meld. Seriously - two romances with Doc Holliday? And it was interesting - there were two stories back to back that didn't seem to be romances. Acted as a slight palate cleanser.

I barely finished the above because I picked up Every Woman's Fantasy (Harlequin Single Title) by Vicki Lewis Thompson this morning, and didn't want to put it down. It looks fun and light, even though I don't usually like the "one character keeps secrets" books.

message 22: by Valorie (new)

Valorie | 2218 comments I just finished Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. Really enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of the True Blood series so I thought it was about time I read the books! I'm now reading In Over Her Head (Tritone Trilogy, #1) by Judi Fennell by Judi Fennell

message 23: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. Finished Death's Mistress last night. I enjoyed this book. I'm reading Tempting the Beast right now. It's book one in the Breed series. Liking it a lot.

Carolyn, that book is really good but the series gets much better. Welcome to Breed mania! LOL

message 25: by Nairabell (new)

Nairabell | 433 comments I'm reading The Shop on Blossom Street at the mo. I'm really enjoying it so far, and it's not my usual type of book.

Valorie - how are you enjoying In Over Her Head? It's in my TBR heap.

I've found it to be a little on the cheesy side. It's still a pretty good romance. I'll probably read the others in the series.

message 30: by Nikki ♥ (new)

Nikki ♥ I'm starting Tender Rebel by Johanna Lindsey.

message 31: by ~Sara~ (new)

~Sara~ | 667 comments I just finished Lover Awakened, and I think I'm having a bit of a Brotherhood burn-out. I'm going to take a break before continuing the series.

I'm starting the Wallflowers series next with Again The Magic. This will be my first book by Lisa Kleypas. I'm looking forward to it since regency type historical romances are my favourite and she seems to be one of the more popular authors of that genre.

message 32: by Regina (new)

Regina Polli | 177 comments I just finished Coming Undone for the Women we Love Challenge. I´m completely in love with Brody!

Reading now Moby Dick (for another challenge) and A Duke of Her Own (A Noiva do Duque, in Portuguese).

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Sara, I always need to read a book in between my series reads. Usually it is a brain wipe like a Blaze book or something like that.

message 34: by Valerie (new)

Valerie | 295 comments I am taking the plunge. I started Guilty Pleasures last night. It is a bit daunting, knowing that there are about 18 books out there already in this series. Phew!

message 35: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments Valerie - have you read all the ones from Ellora's Cave? I still have GP on my TBR list, but all the other ones come before it, i'm just not sure how intertwined in the story they are...but there are only 3 after GP to read

message 36: by Erin (new)

Erin (erin-b) I'm nearly done with Bite (Includes Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #8.5; Sookie Stackhouse, #5.1; Mageverse, #3) by Laurell K. Hamilton finally. Also working on Dark Demon (Carpathians, #16) by Christine Feehan which I finally acquired another copy of since the audiobook I was listening to expired and I couldn't renew it. Then on to A Girl's Guide to Vampires (Dark Ones, #1) by Katie MacAlister which is due back at the library this weekend.

I know what you mean. It doesn't really matter to me what it is, as long as it's not too long and completely different. I just read Fahrenheit 451 for this purpose.

I'm reading Bite for a challenge this month but I haven't read any other Anita Blake or Sookie Stackhouse stories so I hope I'm not confused! Did you enjoy it?

It's alright. It's been so long since I read the earlier Anita Blake books that I had a hard time putting that story in context with the series. It's hard to say if there is enough world building in such short stories for people unfamiliar with the series to be confused. I hope there is. I'm not a huge fan of Sookie, so I was a bit bored with that story. I both liked and didn't like the Angela Knight story. I'm just starting her Mageverse series which Galahad comes from so I felt a little lost. Having never read any of the Queen Betsy series I was also a bit lost in the MaryJanice Davidson story, but not terribly so. Never read anything by Vickie Taylor before, so we'll see about that last story. Hope you enjoy them all.

But at least yours has some social commentary (although a bit dated at this point) and thus some social value. That is at least defensible. I dare you to try to justify most of the crap I read. :P

Speaking of which, I just finished Real Men Do It Better. When one short erotica story isn't good enough for you, get a collection of four of them. :D

Trying to decide what to start next. I think I might get my 'M' book out of the way with Men at Work. Yep, a Blaze book.

Valorie | 2218 comments I just finished In Over Her Head (Tritone Trilogy, #1) by Judi Fennell . A little on the cheesy side by still a pretty good read. I'm now reading Torn (The Blood Lily Chronicles, #2) by Julie Kenner .

message 42: by Ez (new)

Ez (ezrah-rah) | 387 comments Just started Annie's Song by Catherine Anderson yesterday.

message 43: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. Just finished Tempting the Beast, very good. Reading Stranger in My Arms, I'm this one too.

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

Halfway through The Last Unicorn. It's fabulous. A little talky in parts, but fabulous. I want to get into a relationship with this book, something pretty serious. Maybe we date for a while and then move in together, something like that. I don't want to scare it by proposing just yet, but well, when you know, you know.

message 45: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. You're too funny Moss :)

Nairabell - If you end up liking Blossom Street, try her Cedar Cove series. Excellent!!

UPDATE 3/11
LOVED IT!

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments After a couple of quick Blaze novels, I'm trying to decide to go Covet or a YA, The Battle of Jericho, next.
