Tess Gerritsen Fans discussion

Even though we're a small group, I'm happy to announce that we'll be doing group reads in the Tess Gerritsen Fans group. The first group read I have set up is Ice Cold with a release date of June 29th.

If there are at least 3 people interested in reading a Tess Gerritsen title at the same time, I'll feature it as a group read - so we could definitely have some group reads before the release of Ice Cold if there is interest. Personally, I'm trying to re-read the Rizzoli/Isles series before Ice Cold is released, so if anyone wants to join in, I've already read The Surgeon and I'll be reading The Apprentice in the near future.

I thought it would be a good idea to focus on the Rizzoli/Isles series before the release of Ice Cold and then do the stand-alone medical thrillers after Ice Cold. Feel free to post in this discussion if you plan to read any Tess Gerritsen titles before June 29th. :-)Thanks

I'll be starting The Apprentice soon - I like to get both audiobook and print versions whenever possible to help me get through the books faster. I might not be able to read the book in order depending on audiobook on CD availability at my library. Hoping to read The Sinner next if I can get the audiobook :-)

I'm not sure if I'll be able to read it before Ice Cold hits, but I think I'm going to start with The Surgeon.

I'm still waiting for The Sinner, which haven't arrived yet. I need to read this series in order...

I just got The Sinner from the Library yesterday. I'd like to get the audiobook to help me get through it faster but not sure if that's gonna happen.

Since we're such a small group, it might be a while before we get 3 people reading the same book together. For now, I'm going to start featuring books that any group member is currently reading. If I notice you're reading the book I'll feature it on the group bookshelves or you can post here if you're reading any Tess Gerritsen book. Thanks.

I just picked up a copy of Harvest by Tess Gerritson from the library. Will begin reading it tomorrow. :o)

Awesome! I'll feature it on the group page as currently reading and Harvest will be our first Stand-Alone book with a discussion thread.

I've read all the Rizzoli books so far and am a big fan of Tess's writing style, but I think I am liking Ice Cold the best. It has a more creepy/distubing feel to it which has me on the edge of my chair. I'm a little over half way done and finding it hard to put down. Like Dustin I like to have the print and audio/iPod version going at the same time but since I have an ARC of Ice Cold that isn't possible. It is taking me longer because I prefer Large Print but the print in the ARC copy is pretty good. So far it is a ★★★★★ book in my opinion. I highly recommend it and look forward to discussing it with all of you.

I have The Apprentice on my "to read" list, so would be happy to join a group read of that!

I read Girl Missing about a year ago, in audio. Really liked it.

I've ordered Girl Missing as well from the library. I haven't read that one either. So I'm going to join you Dustin.

Awesome! Anyone else? For some reason this one is readily available, I guess because it got re-released. Wish more of her older stuff was available on audio.

I started Girl Missing last night on audiobook. At the beginning of disc 1 Tess Gerritsen talks about this book being the turning point from her writing romance to writing mystery/police drama novels. I for one am so glad she made the switch.

The Silent Girl :-) It won't be released until July 2011. I've read all of them - re-read them all last year while I was waiting for ICE COLD. My personal favorite of the series is The Keepsake.

Anyone interested in reading The Bone Garden? that was my favorite Stand-alone and I'd like to re-read it. Post here if you're interested.

Perhaps Silent Girl is going to be released in conjunction with the series starting up again on TV?

Kinda looks that way. The cover is promoting the TNT series.

Oh it just has the TNT circle symbol in the top right cover like Ice Cold and the re-leased paperbacks of Apprentice etc did last year, that's all :-)

Did you mean The Silent Girl Wonderkell? Ice Cold came out last year and was really good.

You might be looking at an older post. Ice Cold was released in 2010 and we read it as a group last Summer. The Silent Girl will be released in July 2011 and we'll be featuring it as a group read this Summer. Please join us for The Silent Girl Group Read, but if you still need to read ICE COLD, you can comment in that discussion anytime also :-)

What is our next Tess group read? Do you nominate or vote or how do we go about it?

We don't have regularly scheduled group reads, but whenever someone feels like we need to have one, they can post here :-)
Feel free to post a title you're interested in reading and see if anyone else is interested. I wouldn't mind reading GRAVITY again.

I'd go for Gravity as well. I think that is her only book that I haven't read yet.

I would like to read Gravity, I haven't read that or Life Support yet.

We should do Gravity then. I think I have The Bone Garden running through the 15th. Should I feature Gravity sooner than the 15th? Let me know if you feel I should overlap them. For now I'll go ahead and set Gravity to start when The Bone Garden ends.

I do to but I plan on doing that Monday and will start then if you want.

I probably won't start until around the 15th because I've got several other books lined up and I've got to see what the availability is at the library for Gravity.

OK, I may do that. I have three going now but it shouldn't take me long to finish one of them.
