Is anyone good at finding short stories without an author, year, or title?
A friend said he once read a fantastic story about a place where a language was created that didn't allow lying. It involved speech, song, and movement, but was somehow science fiction in tone.
Actually he thought he'd read it in Eye by Frank Herbert but when he bought it, that story wasn't in there.
The Second Foundationers in the Foundation Series by Isaac Asimov could communicate huge amounts of data just by the smallest of facial expressions but also telepathy (always helpful)
This wasn't a short story - and probably not the story you asked about (Can't see the First Speaker ever dancing)
The The Languages of Pao by Jack Vance is based on the theory that the language of a culture influences the capabilities of its people. Very interesting sci-fi.

Does this trigger anything for any of you Lasers?
