Read a book with a hero who is less than perfect in some way? Maybe he's missing a limb, got a disability, some serious scarring, or something else. If so, post a comment with the book title, author, genre, the hero's name and what makes the him different!

If you can and have time, please add a link to the book here on GR :)

message 16: by Kritanga (new)

Kritanga | 1 comments Hey there I love a typical heroe they are so refreshing and I find more true to life if you take out the dramatics. Here are a few of my favs.

Broken wing-Judith James: Heroe is scarred but by a means you'd neve expect.

Beast-Judith Ivory: hero is scarred

Snowfire-( can't remember who the author is): Hero)mOrgan Kincaid) is scarred missing an eye (this bok is no longer in Pub but is so good)

All of the Black dagger brotherhood series- JR Ward they are all Atypical heros. Extremely good.

A hearing Heart-Bonnie Dee: Hero is deaf ( really good)

Bid for a bride-Ruth Ann Norton: Hero is blind a( the book is a little tam efor me but still sweet and interesting)

Texas Destiny-Loraine Heath: Hero is scarred and partially deaf Great Book!

mistress to the beast-Eve vaughn: Hero is scarred short but satisfying read.

Impestuous Abuction-Patricia Frances Powel- Hero is an amputee. Love this book

Edge of sight-Roxanne St Claire: hero is scarred and missing an eye ( another really good read, mystery suspence passion, it all there)

Always and forever-Pam labud: Hero is disabled, great book

Her Millionaire Miracle- Myrna mackenzie

Doubting thomas-Stephanie taylor- Hero is scarred( yeta again great book)

Her second hand wife- Cheryl St John- Hero is scarred( great book)

Never Call it loving-Gail link: hero is scarred (an oldie but a goody)

One summer-Karen Robard: Hero is not physically scarred but has his baggage (great hero I read it every summer)

These are just a few of my favs but some my others have alreasy been mentioned. Kresely Coles's If you decieve makes me cry everytime I read it, and Tapesrty don't even get me started. Anyways hope this helps in the pursuit of a great but underidentified genre.

-the vixen and the vet by katy regnery - hero hand and half his face is disfigured after war

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Three of my books:
Keep your enemy close: the hero is overweight
Behind our walls: the hero calls himself "ugly as sin". I won't say more.
Nothing but the truth? So help me God... : the hero is 7 inches shorter than the heroine and looks like a 20-year old instead of early 30s
