Use this thread to discuss Unholy Ghosts with others who have finished the book. If you haven't read the book yet, turn away lest you learn what happens between Terrible, Chess, Lex and the rest of Downside.

I'm going to start this discussion off with the first sexy scene in which Chess first sees Terrible and Amy up against the wall. That is the scene the first sparked my interest in Terrible. He became more of a hottie to me at that point. lol

Joanne (needsun) | 8 comments Agreed! He seemed to know what he was doing and evoked feelings in Chess before she knew it was him.

He opens the car door for her...Love it!

The worst was when Chess was so stoned but Terrible didn't know. He thought they may have something. When she couldn't stop laughing and he realized what was going on....so so so sad. I hated Chess at that moment.

I did too Joanne. I love it that he opened the car door for her and you could really tell he hated her when he didn't open it for her anymore. I felt a little for her at that point, but she brought all that on herself. lol

Michelle | 8 comments Just imagine what would have happened if they had hooked up after the kiss... Chess wouldn't have slept with Lex that night, and maybe she and Terrible would have been together after all. I love that we can regret along with Chess about this one pivotal night.

Joanne (needsun) | 8 comments I just started listening to Unholy Magic. I am going to linger over this book because I know there is only one more. sob

I know this is an old thread, but I just read the books. I was heartbroken when she said
"No, don't look at me like that. Look like you did before. When you didn't look like you" right after that *shudders* AWESOME kiss. I felt so sad for both of them,it was bad enough that she was going to screw him because she "can't get any crazier"..........UGH!!

A friend of mine's reading it now, I keep getting 12am txts from her. lol, I welcome her to a blissfull descent into Downside.

Carrie (cgodfrey) | 15 comments That part still makes me sad, Sarah! I just listened to the audio book yesterday and I think that part was even worse after having read all the other books.

I listened to the part where he beat Doyle up like twice. >_> And I may have listened to the scene in the tattoo parlor like four times lol

Sarah (SB) ღ | 33 comments Everbody has the audio but me, lol! That's the second most sickening moment in the whole series.

I bet those are both great to listen to!

SassyC | 8 comments I just devoured Unholy Magic, can't wait to start City of Ghosts! Help ... when Chess shot the psychopomp (sp?) coming for Terrible and put the sigil on his body, she helped him 'cheat death' and bound his soul to his body so he would not die at that moment? Now I am wondering what that sigil may mean for Terrible in the future. Thanks for your help; I'm a nerd and sometimes read too fast. :)

We are all wondering the same thing. There are some mentions in Sacrificial Magic about it, and from what I hear, it becomes a bigger issue as the series goes on. And yes, that is exactly what the sigil did, it tied his spirit to his body so it wouldn't leave. :-)

You are in good company of nerds!

SassyC | 8 comments Thanks Laura! The ending to Unholy Magic was so good, but I'm glad I had the next book ready and waiting. :)

SassyC | 8 comments I'm sometimes hesitant to read love/romance triangles that play out over several books because one of the suitors drives me completely crazy. Lex is meh for me so far, and does not compete with Terrible at all.

I agree with that statement. Lex is okay but Terrible is unlike any other hero I have ever read about.........sighs dreamily...............

Laura *Little Read Riding Hood* (lauralittlereadridinghood) | 57 comments AND again ... we are all in the same boat. I like Lex, but not as a love interest for Chess. I think he is funny. :-)

message 16: by Cindyg (new)

Cindyg (brotherlover) | 29 comments I have to admit that in the beginning I wasn't sure who Chess's love interest should be. Lex has protected her and I believe he does care for her but as the stories continued, it became very obvious who I felt Chess should give her heart too. And I must admit I gave my heart to Terrible too.
