Misty Hello, all! I have been a lurker for quite some time and really enjoy this group. I couldn't resist joining after reading about your pets...you must be nice people if you're animal lovers! Also, I think it would be fun to participate in the next collaborative poetry thread. It was fun watching that come together.

RandomAnthony Hi Misty! Welcome to the Axis! Another teacher...hope your summer is treating you well.

Is your town really called "fair play", by the way?

Welcome, Misty! Anyone who reads YA books is okay by me!

RandomAnthony (Before this goes any further, Misty, be careful of Jackie. If there ever is a controversy, listen to me.)

Misty Hey, RA! Thanks for the welcome. Yep, my town is really called Fair Play. A small community with a Dollar General and post office, but no stop lights.

My summer has been very relaxing while planning for a new grade level. How is yours? Don't you teach at a university? That's what I seem to remember from a random post somewhere.

- Misty

You can trust Randomanthony in most things, Misty. It's true. Just not about music. He doesn't like the Beatles, you see...

RandomAnthony Wow, good memory...yes...I do know...but I taught middle school for four years and I was an elementary reading specialist for four years. I miss the kids a lot.

Summer's going well, thanks...busy but good. I'm wasting most of my summer at work, the library, on goodreads, or with my kids.:)

Misty Thanks, Jackie. I am so jealous of your job. I worked closely with the LMC staff at my last school, and that will be my job in my next life...or this life if I can talk my husband into letting me take us back into debt with another degree!

Misty Yeah, I read about the whole music thing at mini am. I'll steer clear of sharing my music tastes until you know me and like me.

Okay, so we know now that Misty is a wise, wise woman... :D

Misty Hi! Yes, my husband and I play...usually about three games each afternoon. We're not playing quite as much right now because it's too hot in the garage (we play out there so we don't ruin our floors). Cricket is my favorite. Do you play?

message 12: by Misty (new)

Misty BTW, that's my three in the bed on bulls eye in my avatar! Yeah for me!

message 13: by Misty (new)

Misty We haven't played competitively in about six years. I'll play the 01 games, but I have a hard time doubling out. That's my hubby's strength, which worked out well when we played on a team.

Ello Misty, There is a town in Alaska "livingood" no joke. I think the smaller the town the more acceptable it is to have a strange name. This town sports street names like

"Yellow Snow dr."
"Turn Back st."

There are many more but they all seem to be escaping me at the moment.

I believe there is also a section of the "town" where all the streets are named after cartoons.

Bullwinkle and the like.
Small towns rule.

Ruth Hi Misty, another Constant Reader has made her way over here.

message 16: by Misty (new)

Misty Bunny, that's a good plan. My hubby always sets it up to go out on double 16. I just start working on goin out as soon as I can and hope that I get lucky.

Yep, Nick, small towns rule. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Hey, Ruth! Starting to look like I'm following you, huh?

Misty Funny! Boring has a beautiful view of that mountain, though.

Oh you like Cricket too - I love going watching the games in my home town when the sun is shinning and the sky is blue. I can't play darts but my aunt used to play for a pub team and she was quite good.
