RandomAnthony | 14536 comments My ten year old returned home from his first day of school today...I asked him if he had any homework. He said he's supposed to take five to ten small objects in a bag to school that he's going to use to introduce himself to the class.

What five to ten items would you bring?

But those are material objects--grapes, melons, a barrel, etc.--all arranged to represent a man's face. I was just going by the title of the thread...

Benny and Joon ain't bad, but it couldn't represent me...I do wish I could do Benny's keen Charlie Chaplin imitation, though.

At first glance I read this as "the smell of a baby freshly tubed." That made me stop and worry for a second. :)

message 28: by Cambridge (last edited Sep 01, 2010 09:57PM) (new)

Cambridge (hsquare) | 509 comments hahaha not sure what that could be (test tube babies? ;) . . . and not sure I want to know that smell.

But clean baby smell is like a hot bath, hot toddy and curling up by the fire.

Ultimate aromatherapy!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I agree that a clean baby smells like comfort to me as well.

message 30: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Were you in my son's fourth grade class, his teacher would be rather miffed at you guys for bringing in babies (for the smell, I assume), beagles, moose (!) and melty ice cream. But I love you anyway.

message 31: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments i am used to that. in the fourth grade, when we used to have Show & Tell once a week, i would bring in stuff like a foxes skull i found in the woods. teachers were somewhat miffed then.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Kevin "El Liso Grande" wrote: "whoa whoa whoa. what was the last item?"

:) It's TRUE!!! I have one.

When my dad got a VA benefits settlement, my bro and sis got a hefty check because they were still minors. I was too old to get anything. Dad asked me if I wanted anything else of his because he thought it was unfair, and I told him I was good. He gave me his Mickey Mantle baseball instead. He knew I treasure it. I have to hide it from my brother and sister when they come to visit. They each think it should be theirs.
