With the vampire hype... lately I have been bored with reading about vamps. I used to LOVE reading about witches when I was younger, but haven't picked up a good "Witch" book in a while.
Does anyone have some suggestions of past witch books they liked?
Does anyone know of some new witch books that came out?

Aniya-Hex hall sounds pretty Good! I added it to my TBR list!

Joseph-I'm guess I like a little of both. I prefer a more paranormal type of witch, but the wiccan kind is good too. I read the sweep series when I was a teen and liked it. I read circle of three, but only the first few books. I don't remember why I stopped... Yasmine Galenorn sounds great! I'm going to add some of her books to my TBR list. :)

Stormhawk- That series reminds me of the Dresden files by Jim Butcher, which you might like! :)

I've read up to book 8 in Dresden Files. The magick in Dresden Files is a lot more of the spectacular (and ceremonial) kind, and includes interactions with all sorts of magickal beasties and entities. M.R. Sellars tends to be more subtle in his use of magick in what are pretty solid mystery plots.

I like both, but prefer M.R. Sellars.

For more erotic romance, try Laura Stamps. She's got a wonderful series, The Witches of Dixie, as well as a vamp series.

I just finished reading Hex Hall, and I really liked it! Thanks for the recommendation! :)

Although not particularly Sci-Fi, Paulo Coelho has two books which have witches in that I really enjoyed reading - The Witch of Portobello and Brida. Also Dark Sister by Graham Joyce

I just found this one Witch's Daughter, at the library today on the new shelf, it looks really good, have to finish anoher book first though,lol.

There's the Wither series -
Wither (Wendy Ward, Book 1) - Read it years ago, there's three in the series, very good stuff. Told from a slightly younger perspective but thick books.

Also there's the thin and fun Sorority trilogy from Tamara Thorne.

I think I read the first Wendy Ward book... I'll have to double check though. I haven't read the sorority trilogy though!

I read about two months ago and I loved it.

This book is about to be released Oct 4th. The Demon Lover. I had the pleasure of receiving an ARC. If you loved Discovery of Witches, or are looking for something with witches and others..i think you will love it. Here is my review:

Laurie Faria Stolarz's Blue is for Nightmares series is good. So is Anne Rice's The Witching Hour.

The accidental witch trilogy The Kitchen Witch

I recently finished It Takes a Witch by Heather Blake and loved it. It's got a little bit of romance, a little mystery, and a good dose of humor.

Also, an older book that I remember enjoying (and just found on Kindle, which saves my rag-tag paperback!) is Witch and Wombat by Carolyn Cushman. Rather tongue in cheek fairy tales meet D&D meets union strikes.

Yeah, I wrote one myself. A Horror thriller called THE TRIAL OF RACHEL WILLIAMS. It's about a woman tried for witchcraft and murder in a modern day courtroom. Wanted to do a contemporary take on a witchcraft trial and see if it could be done. The Trial of Rachel Williams

I wish that somebody could tell me why this current trend of writing and reading books about witches, vampires, werewolves, zombies and dystopian socoites is so popular at this time.

Read this morning that the author of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and the one about Abe Lincolm, Vampre Stalker has written a new book and the first two aer being made into movies. I think Tim Burton is going to direct theswe and Johnny Depp is in one of them.

I just started reading the ODwyer cousins trilogy by Nora Roberts. It is about witches. Didn't know she had them but they are pretty good.third book comes out in oct2014.
