I have just finished reading Coraline by [Author: Neil Gaiman]

I'm now about to start Room by [Author: Emma Donoghue]

I think that when i have finished reading Room, then i might be on the lookout for something more 'Christmassy' I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any!

message 2: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle I am currently reading Little Women and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Did you enjoy Coraline?

message 3: by Diane (new)

Diane | 2 comments I'm re-reading Bitten (Women of the Otherworld, #1) by Kelley Armstrong for a reading challenge just now, and have just finished Magic In the Blood (Allie Beckstrom, #2) by Devon Monk for the same challenge. I'm also reading She by H. Rider Haggard as well.

Nicolle, Coraline was okay. I think it was ruined as i had watched the film first. I always prefer to read books before the film, like most people =]

message 6: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle I have watched the film and found it creepy! Now you say that I'm not sure if I want to read it anymore... :P

Well i've finished Room by Emma Donoghue Really fantastic and i recommend it to you all.

I'm about to start The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and i'm hoping it's as good as everyone makes it out to be in their reviews! It's not something that i'd normally look at to read, but it keeps popping up everywhere, so i thought that i'd give it a go!

message 8: by Carlos (new)

Carlos (encore) Right now I'm reading beautiful creatures and it is a really good page turner!

message 9: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle The Hunger Games is great and sooo addictive whilst reading...

message 10: by Carlos (new)

Carlos (encore) I love the hunger games. But the ending wasn't so great!

message 11: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle No it wasn't and I haven't got around to reading the other two yet...

Alice (The Reader Room) (adwyer) I'm reading Catching Fire at the moment. So so addictive.

Well. As for the Hunger Games, I'm only about 20% of the way through. I wanna sit and read but unfortunately I have to go to work Wednesday through to Saturday =[

message 20: by Hayley (new)

Hayley Whytock | 65 comments Mod
Well; I'm STILL reading Catching Fire. I've had no time at all this week, due to work. I now have my few days off, so hopefully i'll finish this, and start A Dog Named Christmas. I think i'll leave Mockingjay until a later date! Although from reviews i've been told Catching Fire is left with a massive cliffhanger =o

message 21: by Carlos (new)

Carlos (encore) true that. Last sentence of the book to be exact!

message 22: by Aline (new)

Aline (savedbymercy) Duchess In Love by Eloisa James. My first from Ms. James. Hopefully, it won't be my last :)

message 23: by Hayley (new)

Hayley Whytock | 65 comments Mod
I've just started A Dog Named Christmas.
FINALLY. It's only a hundred or so pages long. So hopefully i'll have a couple of hours to read it!

Finished Mockingjay the other day. Took me a while as i've been so busy. I've just started Flu i'm about halfway through. I love zombies; if anyone can recommend any zombie books to me it would be very much appreciated! ^____^

message 25: by Carlos (new)

Carlos (encore) So what do u think of Mockingjay?

message 26: by Hayley (last edited Jan 03, 2011 03:38AM) (new)

Hayley Whytock | 65 comments Mod
Carlos, the Hunger Games trilogy is one of my favorite now. But as for Mockingjay, i have to say it's the least favourite of the three, it didn't keep me as hooked as the other two but it was still a fantastic read. We can talk about it in greater detail in a couple of months time when it will be our March read!

As for now, i have just finished [Book: Fluke] by [Author: James Herbert] and also finished Flu by Wayne Simmons. I have now just started to read Real Murders by Charlaine Harris

message 27: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle I am currently reading Lady Chatterley's Lover.

I've just started The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson I'm very sceptical at the minute, and i hope that i'll be able to get into it. I'm not at the stage of being 'hooked' just yet, i'm only in the first chapter. But if needs be, i will persevere in hope that i'll enjoy it!

message 29: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle I am about half way through and ended up reading something else and haven't picked it up again since...it's not bad or anythign but the part I read was a bit slow and uneventful.

message 30: by Hayley (new)

Hayley Whytock | 65 comments Mod
Haha. I try to read one book at a time otherwise that happens! Try my best to finish what I started! I haven't seen the film yet though.

message 31: by Hayley (new)

Hayley Whytock | 65 comments Mod
Well. I've now passed the chapter 4 mark, ready to start chapter five, i think this is where it picks up a bit. So i have read from reviews anyway!
I'm now waiting for Saturday, three days off work!

message 32: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle Woop! Three days to sit indoors being warm and reading. Did it snow today where you live? I haven't seen the film either...supposed to be good though.

Yeah it did. Just a little, i'm up at Newcastle. Just a little sprinkle on the ground, nothing that will cause havoc just yet. How about you?

message 34: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle Same really, luckily it rained pretty much straight afterwards (though it was slushy and I accidentally war suede boots (not waterproof!).

Newcastle Upon Tyne?
My first novel "Silence" takes place there throughout the book! But it's Newcastle in the 1920's.

I'm halfway through The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender . Not as good as i thought it would be, but i'm finishing it off regardless.

I finished reading One Day by David Nicholls a couple of weeks ago. I did enjoy it. I'm unsure as to whether or not i watch the film, i seem to be disappointed by most of them after reading the book.
