Serapis sat perched on a rock by the creek. His lean body was bent over a sheet of paper and he was scribbling furiously, his earnest amber eyes narrowed in concentration.
Performing the customary double take on the newcomer, Serapis' eyes widened slightly as he beheld the sharp features of the boy from the Eros cabin.
Smiling hurriedly, he returned to his paper, though his features held a definite blush to them now.

"A poem," Serapis stuttered, snatching away the paper as if by instinct. As he did so, his ink pen fell to the ground, and he bent over to pick it up, gazing at the other boy. "You'd be polite if you asked to read it," he remarked with a dry smile, scribbling down the last line.
"Oh, if you must," Serapis said with that adorable grin of his, handing the boy the poem. "It's not very good. Yet."
The hall of empty voices chorused
That the tangled web of lies had surfaced
The murmurs of the spring were stemmed
Hush! We must not try to make amends.
The deed’s been done, the song’s been sung
The sun shone red, the bird’s flight is dead.
Hush! We must now sleep upon this bed.
The cold was burned, and winter’s rose
Now crimson stain upon the snow
Have all been silenced—yet still you stand!
Hush! The wind still breathes upon the sand.
((Mine. :3))

Jace raised his eybrows as he read. He looked up and met Serapis' gaze, eyes wide. "Wow," he breathed.
((I DIDN'T SEE THE (new) !!!!!))
I'll say, 'wow', Serapis thought, though he smiled softly at Jace, amber eyes eagerly anticipating his respons. "You like it?" he asked brightly.

((cough Jason? I think that's your character.))
Jace grinned right back. "Mhm," he said with a lilting tone.
((-.- stupid whim.))
"Great," Serapis said, completely at a loss for words as he stared right into Jace's dark, dark eyes.
Snap /out/ of it!
"What's your name?"

"What's your name?"
"Serapis," the boy muttered, flopping his dark hair from his eyes. "Serapis Harding of the Muse cabin."
"I could very well be from... from the Ares cabin, just with an aptitude for poetics," Serapis countered, raising an eyebrow with just the merest hint of flirtation.

"I'm just not used to anyone disagreeing with me," Serapis said, mockingly shaking his head in disbelief.
((errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.))
"What do you like to do for fun?" Serapis asked curiously, glancing at the incredibly handsome boy seated next to him.

Fudge *thinks rapidly£ Fun.... Hmm...))
Jace seemed to have to think about it for a few moments. "Mmm... Depends jn what you count as 'fun'."
"Actually, it depends on what you count as fun," Serapis corrected, grinning. "Hobbies, interests..."

Jace smiled and stood, offering his hand to help Serapis up without a second thought. "How much do you hate the water?"
Drake strolled down to the creek, smug as always. His hands were shoved into his pockets, black eyes darting from place to place

Drake's eyebrows rose, the curl of his sneer becoming more prominent. "Well, well, well. What have we here?0

"There isn't any rule that you have to answer to any given quesiton," Serapis said, standing up and regarding Drake with his eyebrow cocked.
