Lisa Hickman (lbhick) | 986 comments Harry Bosch is one of my all-time favorite fictional characters, and his half-brother, Mickey Haller, is earning a spot alongside of him. In his third Haller book, Connelly has again proven to me he is at the top of his game.

In a reversal of positions, Haller is now acting as a district attorney instead of public defender. His ex-wife occupies the other chair, and Bosch is in the background using his investigative skills to help. Not only is this a finely tuned crime mystery, but a further development into the enigmatic Harry Bosch. He is a complex, multi-layered character and now the reader gets to see a new facet of his persona as he is played against his dynamo, lawyer brother. Even in the background, Bosch stands out.

I love this combo of Bosch and Haller, and can't wait for the next installment. I also can't wait for the upcoming movie, The Lincoln Lawyer, which was Connelly's first Haller book.

My Rating: 5 stars

Sera | 1325 comments You've intrigued me about this series, Lisa. But the last thing that I need is to get hooked on another series :)

Sera, you would be doing yourself a favor to check out this series. The first of the Bosch series is The Black Echo (Harry Bosch, #1) by Michael Connelly . Connelly has also written several stand alone books, like The Poet (Jack McEvoy, #1) by Michael Connelly and Blood Work by Michael Connelly . Can you tell he's one of my favorite authors?

Tasha I read The Poet (Jack McEvoy, #1) by Michael Connelly a couple of years ago and remember really liking it! I'll have to check Blood Work.
