Since some of us have different user names here than BGG, an introduction thread seems a good place to start.

I am:
Goo
dlutes3
Dave

edit: turns out we can change our names and user names here. I am once again, just Goo.

You are Statler, just like Wes is ElAndorian.

Do we start nominating books we want to read?

[vote something I already have in my TBR (to be read) pile]

Anyone want a list?

OK, This is all new to me so if I'm going crazy and need to settle down someone will have to say so [but in a nice soothing "we still love you" tone of text]

I gather there is a process for this and it will eventually be illuminated.

I added some books that are on my TBR list. I suppose everyone does that, then we vote on where to start? I tend toward more scifi, but tried to restrain myself. I also didn't list anything that was a series, which left most of my scifi list out anyway.

Hello all :) Dawn/SelenA here.

Currently reading: The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
Margaret Atwood is my author girlfriend right now. Recently finished "Year of the Flood" which is the sequel to "Oryx and Crake." ("Oryx and Crake" is currently my favorite book and I cannot recommend it enough!)

Hello, Sparky/Ken here. Currently reading A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1) by George R.R. Martin

Slowly, but surely chugging along. Never been part of a book club before, so this should be fun.

Hi Bluelise/Megan here. I'm currently reading Towers of Midnight (Wheel of Time, #13; A Memory of Light, #2) by Robert Jordan and I'm excited to read with you guys. What will our rating system be? Claw marks? Villagers eaten?

I am starting that today. We should discuss ;)

message 15: by Wes (new)

Wes | 20 comments You should discuss it publicly. :)

Seeing people's first impressions of Game of Thrones is always interesting.

By coincidence, it looks like I actually re-read A Game of Thrones at the same time many of you did. Probably because of the HBO series.

You picked a good girlfriend! She has my favorite literary quote ever. And it was something just written on the wall in a bathroom in one of her stories. "F**K Vegetarians, all Gods are carnivorous"(no offense meant to vegetarians. )

By the way, I am mirarian(mir) who could have guessed? :)
