I really like the Tattoo Shop mysteries and the covers are awesome.

message 9: by Linette (new)

Linette Think I'll go with Holly Blues (China Bayles, #18) by Susan Wittig Albert and A Royal Pain (Her Royal Spyness Mysteries #2) by Rhys Bowen as they are both already on my TBR list :)

message 10: by Katherine (new)

Katherine I'm going to do Nightshade (China Bayles Mystery, Book 16) by Susan Wittig Albert for the flower and Death on the Lizard (A Victorian Mystery, #12) by Robin Paige for pink. I'll probably finish them early in the mohth since we are going to leave mid-Feb for our winter road trip and I never have time to read then. Though I usually buy tons of books on these trips and have to toss everything aside to read them when I get back. LOL

message 11: by Valorie (new)

Valorie | 550 comments Thanks Sherrie and Melodie! I'm glad to hear it's a good series. It will knock another state off my 50 states challenge too! I seem to keep reading books from states I already have marked off!

I think I'll do Witches' Bane for flowers, and for red/pink I will think.

message 16: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (catjackson) I think I'll read Sleeping With Anemone A Flower Shop Mystery by Kate Collins for the flower part of the theme and The Secret Adversaryby Agatha Christie. This edition of Christie's has a bright red heart on the cover and, I could get it on my kindle for only $0.80! This is going to be fun.

I think I'm going to read Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter (Dixie Hemingway, #1) by Blaize Clement . I've found it for 2.99$ for my reader and it has a nice pink cover ;)

message 18: by Jan (new)

Jan (libraryhag) | 82 comments Can I count A Hoe Lot of Trouble A Hoe Lot of Trouble (Nina Quinn, #1) by Heather Webber by Heather Webber as flowers. She is a landscaper so I guess that is really more gardening. I have just been dying to read it. What do you think??

Yes, that's fine.

message 20: by Zoe (new)

Zoe (bookwormfromathens) | 712 comments I don't know if the Yellow Rose series by Leann Sweeney complies with the Flowers theme. If so, I plan to read Pick Your Poison (A Yellow Rose Mystery, #1) by Leann Sweeney for the Flowers part and Duplicity Dogged the Dachshund The Second Dixie Hemingway Mystery by Blaize Clement for the pink/red cover theme.

message 21: by Deborah (new)

Deborah | 22 comments The Darling Dahlias and the Cucumber Tree The Darling Dahlias and the Cucumber Tree by Susan Wittig Albert and Spying in High Heels Spying in High Heels (High Heels, #1) by Gemma Halliday for the pink theme (good enough with half and half?)

Rats, there are too many holds on Hoe Lot of Trouble. I think Heather Webber is getting more popular out here. Anyway, I am changing to Mum's the Word Mum's the Word (A Flower Shop Mystery, #1) by Kate Collins for flowers and Bone Appetit Bone Appetit (Sarah Booth Delaney, #10) by Carolyn Haines for the pink/red cover.

You can use it since the character that dies is the gardener.

(Ghost Hunter Mystery, #1) by Victoria Laurie for the pink cover (it's more hot pink than pastel, at least on my monitor - hope that's OK).

Well, I think I've taken a decision (or not, perhaps it will change with month, the moon, my mood...):

1.- Flowers: Pick Your Poison
2.- Pink cover: Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter

Pick Your Poison (A Yellow Rose Mystery, #1) by Leann Sweeney Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter (Dixie Hemingway, #1) by Blaize Clement

Chris Curtis (cjccur) | 68 comments I'm going to read the featured author book Wreath of Deception (A Craft Corner Mystery, #1) by Mary Ellen Hughes and kill two birds with one stone since I already have this one and don't see any other flower books on my shelves.

For a red cover I requested Axel of Evil (A Figure Skating Mystery, #3) by Alina Adams from the library.

message 35: by Sherrie (new)

Sherrie (vampirekisses2) | 426 comments I changed my pink cover book to Dying in Style (Josie Marcus, Mystery Shopper, #1) by Elaine Viets .

I was wondering if Wreath of Deception would count as a flower book - okay, I'll go with that too! And for red/pink I'll do

Edit 2/24

Finished Wreath of Deception; February challenge is complete!

Dial Emmy for Murder (Soap Opera Mystery, #2) by Eileen Davidson Done with this one 2/23

Yes, that counts. I think others are using it as well.

Did you like the SWA book? I read it last year, and while I love her China Bayles books, this one was just not my thing.

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) Finished!

Flowers: Slay It With Flowers (A Flower Shop Mystery, #2) by Kate Collins 2/5

Melodie, I really wasn't that impressed with it either. I don't know why other than I can't imagine my Southern born and bred grandmother, who would have been of a similar age to most of the Dahlias, doing any of those things.

I do really like the China Bayles series, though.

message 46: by Kate (new)

Kate Carlisle (katecarlisle) | 28 comments I'm going to read Visions of Magic An Awakening Novel by Regan Hastings , which is not a cozy mystery. It's a paranormal romance written by Regan Hastings, which is a pseudonym of my good friend Maureen Child.

message 47: by Zoe (new)

Zoe (bookwormfromathens) | 712 comments I finished Pick Your Poison (A Yellow Rose Mystery, #1) by Leann Sweeney yesterday for the "Flower" theme ( by the way, fantastic book! )
I've started Duplicity Dogged the Dachshund The Second Dixie Hemingway Mystery by Blaize Clement today for the "Pink/Red Cover" theme and so far it seems interesting.
