9 out of 10 DONE
X 1. Starts with F - Fire and Ice by Julie Garwood (Also counts toward Author of the Month)
2. Birthday - If I got this right, then it would be 'Sho'. I picked Atonement by Ian McEwan(since it's on my list to read already, and I got it for Xmas) :)
X 3. Brazil - Heart Of Fire by Linda Howard
X 4. 2 word title - Bed of Roses (does 'of' count as a word in the title?) by Nora Roberts
X 5. Second Chance - Snowfall at Willow Lake by Susan Wiggs
X 6. Novella - Outta the Bad (Me, Myself and Why? Prequel), MaryJanice Davidson
X 7.& 8. Valentine's Day and Black History Month - Cupid by Julius Lester
X 9. Funny book - The Funny Thing Is... by Ellen Degeneres
X 10. My Choice - Steamed by Katie MacAlister
I had to do a last minute change to my list, since I couldn't get Sex Love and Vampires from the library in time, and Say You're One Of Them was too painful and dark to see through. So I am substituting both categories with Cupid by Julius Lester. It has a red cover, and is written by an African American. :)
OK, so I didn't finish Atonement. I had a really hard time getting into it. He lost me when he went on for half a page about the history of the vase that one of the characters was putting flowers into. Details that are not relevant to the story and slow it down are annoying. He's a really good author, and it does seem like a good story, just tedious at times. I am going to try to finish it in March, since it got picked again in a 'Pick It For Me' challenge. I read lots of other books not on my list, though! That's got to count for something, right?
