So...I'm Maranda. I wasn't a big reader until I hit my late teens. I just decided I wanted to be a reader...so then I was.
I worked for B&N for 8 years. Loved it! But it definitely made my reading obsession more...pronounced.
I co-founded this group back in 2002 with my best friend.
Since I am married to an Army guy I've moved around a bit since then. But every time I'm back "home" we start up the book club again.
Now that I'm not sure when I will be back, and I discovered the lovely goodreads option of creating my own virtual book club, I figured what better way to keep our book group going than here??
About the name. Wendy's mom, Dianna, had decided once that we needed to try to get our book club on Oprah. But we needed a name. We decided we would be "Books Without Borders" at the time because we had several B&N employees as members (no Borders employees) and it didn't matter how many borders we had to cross, we would keep our book club going. A couple years ago, Wendy put a Mexican twist on the name (seeing as how it originated in El Paso, TX) and that's what we've stuck with.

I hope you enjoy our group. Let's make it fun!
