Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments This is where you list your favorite books and why you like them.

message 2: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments I love The Lord of the Rings, A Tale of Two Cities, The Three Musketeers, and The Count of Monte Cristo. The Lord of the Rings is my favorite though. I like the friendship between Frodo and Sam. It's also really intense. It can still be heart-pounding at times.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

I like Narnia, Watership Down, Princess Paisley, and The Princess Bride.

message 4: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn I like the Maximum Ride series, the Percy Jackson series, the Books of Bayern, Jane Erye, Fahrenheit 451, etc. There are way too many to count.

message 5: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments I need to read Percy Jackson. I haven't heard of Books of Bayern. I should read Maximum Ride though too.

What are The Books of Bayern about?

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

I started Jane Erye, but it was boring. My friend Katy is reading Maximum Ride too.

message 7: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn They're by Shannon Hale, a really really good Fantasy series. Here is the link to the first one on Goodreads, because I stink at summarizing books: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17...

message 8: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments That sounds interesting. Would a boy like me like it?

message 9: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn Eh. Maybe the third one, where the protagonist is a guy, but my brother liked them when he was ten.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Would a girl like Connor's sister like it?

message 11: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn I think a lot of girls would like it. It's not so much the content but the prose that's addicting.

message 12: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments All right. Cool! I like The Lord of the Rings. That's my favorite series EVER!

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

cool!

message 14: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn That's a good one! I've read The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring; haven't gotten around to the other ones yet.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

I liked the Hobbit, but not the Lord of the Rings. Either there is to much talking or not enough.

message 16: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments I'm reading The Fellowship for my fourth time. I like the Balrog in Kazad-Dûm.

message 17: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn Cool. I watched all the movies even though I didn't read all of the books.

message 18: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments The books are WAY better I think.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

The movies are way better. I don't like Arwen in the special extended version. Who cares if she chose a mortal life? NOT ME!!!

message 20: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn Lol! I like them both equally, but I think the movies are funnier in spots.

message 21: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments Yeah. The books are more serious.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

I like...
-Percy Jackson
-Lord of the Rings + The Hobbit
-39 Clues
-Artemis Fowl (the whole series)
-Deltora Quest
-Companions Quartet
-The Wilderking Series.

There's a bunch more but i can't seem to remember.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

I like the Hobbit, but not the Lord of the Rings books.

Welcome to the group and have fun!

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

Do you think we should make a poll to see what book we'll read for April?

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

that's what I think. I think that would be easiest.

message 27: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments I will close the nomination topic on the 19th and create a poll that day. I will broadcast a reminder on the 18th to remind everyone to get their nominations done before it's too late.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

ok. what did I nominate?

message 29: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments You haven't nominated anything yet. You can nominate a book or second an already nominated book. Do it in the Nominations so far topic though.

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

ok.

message 31: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments Thank you.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll nominate too.

Ooh, Artemis Fowl! Yes!

I love the Maze Runner, Unwind, Everlost, and Graceling. Just a few. :)

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

Watership Down. (if I haven't already made that clear:))

message 35: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn Artemis Fowl is AMAZING!!!

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

Nicole wrote: "Artemis Fowl is AMAZING!!!"

And it's funny too!

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll read it sometime.

message 38: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments I've planned on reading them long ago, but haven't gotten to it.

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

I've heard of them before. Never actually planned on reading them.

message 40: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments Everyone says they're good.

message 41: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn They're hilarious. At first glance they're a bit childish, but once you get farther into the series you can't look away.

message 42: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments Awesome.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

Alright!

message 44: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn Anyone read The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan?

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

nope!

message 46: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments The Red Pyramid?

message 47: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn Yeah! It's sorta fantasy, but, since we were on the topic of funny books I thought I'd mention it.

message 48: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments Cool!

message 49: by Kayla (new)

Kayla Duff Nope, haven't read it yet, but I have read the new Percy Jackson book, the Lost Heroes? The Red Pyramid is on my list (mainly because Stargate has made me fascinated with egyptian stuff). :P

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

I really need to get "The Lost Hero" and "The Red Pyramid". My friend is somewhere international and she's already read both of them!
