You Are Not Prepared discussion

Kristin Cashore (who wrote Graceling and Fire) reported on her Goodreads page about a New York Times article that is seriously disturbing. The post is called "Badly done New York Times". As a caution, it includes mention of rape and poor reporting of same, just before you get into it.
When I read her post, I was a little apalled at the Times. Check it out and let me know what you think.

I read her post thinking it was going to be some victim blaming, but it was going to be mild (while still awful). This? This is sick. I can't believe someone wrote that and I can't believe someone let that go to print. Disgusting. That poor, poor little girl.

This is sick and disgusting.
