HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY discussion

There's a fire blazing merrily in the fireplace, making the room warm and cozy. There are comfy chairs and small couches splayed around the room for the students comfort, along with small side tables for those wishing to do work. Along the walls are draped the colors of Ravenclaw, and the Ravenclaw crest sits proudly above the fireplace.

Lizzy walks in and sits in a chair. She pulls out a new muggle book that her adopted parents sent her.

"Oh I love those, can I borrow that once you are finished?"

Lizzy pulls out a camera and starts to take pictures of anything, everything, and sometimes somebody.

"Yep, I was adopted by a muggle family, so I'm used to muggle things."

Jasmine grinned over at Lizzy.
"Hmm, does that mean I won't be seeing you in Muggle Studies?" she asked, her voice light and teasing.

"Probably, but I don't know, you might."

"I guess I'll know for sure when I look at the list of people coming to that class."

"Yep."

She sighed and then sank into one of the chairs by the fireplace. Since the common room was unusually empty, the good seats were open.

Lizzy went right uo to her and took a close picture. :)

Jasmine blinked and then looked at Lizzy, her eyebrows raised.
"Okay then," she said.

"Thank you for your participation", Lizzy said smiling.

"Er, no problem," Jasmine mumbled.

"Really? You see them all the time in the muggle world."

"Okay then."

Jasmine laughed.
"Because they don't have magic," she said, still chuckling.

"I can get you a muggle camera if you want, and show you how to use it."

Ally clambers in the door.
Scans the room nervously and then relaxes when she sees someone she knows.
"Hey! Lizzie isn't it? Ooh nice camera! Do you like photography too?" she says as she walks over, shooting nervous glances at the others in the room.

"Ya! It's relly fun, though I do not like taking pictures of muself."

Ally smiles "Ha! I absolutely love photography, particularly landscapes, but people as well. Are you from a muggle background as well then?"

"Hello!" Jasmine called happily to Ally. "I'm the Head of House for Ravenclaw, welcome!"

"Well, I'm a pureblood, but I was adopted by muggles, so you could say that"

"Oh, hi!" Ally grins. "Nice to meet you professor."

Jasmine, will we have to reapply to be our quidditch position or...

"Ah! Here it is!" cried Ally, pulling a large, muggle camera out of her suitcase.

"Whoa, I only have a crappy mini camera, that looks awesome!"

Catherine entered the common room, sweaty from the unpacking. "Hi everyone," she said timidly. She cast her eyes around, hoping to see someone familiar, and saw Ally. "Hey! I know you!"

Jasmine waved over at Catherine.
"Welcome, I'm Jasmine the Head of House for Ravenclaw. I'm sure we'll have a great year." She flashed a smile at Catherine.

"Hello, Professor Jasmine." Catherine returned the smile and flopped into the nearest armchair, colliding with the velvet back of the couch. Realising that she had made the majority of the room silent, Catherine stared into the merrily crackling flames, chagrin creeping up her face.

Jasmine began humming the Hogwarts song.

"Hogwarts, Hogwarts, hoggy warty Hogwarts... " Catherine joined in and felt the redness slide off her cheeks. At least she wasn't the only weird one here.

Gabriela went over to talk to Catherine.

Colin had a camera so she could have a wizard camera.

Gabriela decides to talk to Catherine."hi. I'm Gabriela. Anything you want to know about Hogwarts.Welcome to Ravenclaw."

Jasmine laughed and began singing along instead of humming.
"Teach us something please,
Whether we be old and bald,
Or young with scabby knees,
Our heads could do with filling,
With some interesting stuff,
For now they're bare and full of air,
Dead flies and bits of fluff,
So teach us things worth knowing,
Bring back what we've forgot,
Just do your best, we'll do the rest,
And learn until our brains all rot."

"Hi, Gabriela," Catherine said, after Professor Jasmine finished her song. "Hogwarts is really big, compared to my old magic school in Australia. It's also much colder up here!"

Ally skipped happily into the room and flopped down into a squashy sofa.

"Hey, Ally! Long time no see, huh?" Catherine waved from her spot next to the fireplace.

Ally grinned at her "Yup!" she said and reached for a book that she'd left on the floor. She curled her legs up onto the sofa and propped open the book to the page that she was up to, twirling the bookmark in her fingers.

Catherine glanced at the book. "Any good? I couldn't find much in the library," she said with a sigh.

I know right? I just hope I get to camp this year. I'd die if I didn't.

Ally glanced up from her book and looked at Christine. "Yay," she said in a bored voice, then went back to reading.

Ally put her book down and watched her. "What's up, Callie?" she asked.

Ally is silent for a moment. "I haven't read it," she said. "So I do not understand what you mean. No matter." And she curled her legs up under her and went back to her book.

Catherine snuggled up in her fort of cushions and suddenly felt exhausted. "Wh- What time is it...?" she yawned.
