Vincent Lowry (vlowry) | 1126 comments Mod
I know a lot of authors have upcoming releases and I'm creating a folder where we can mention these projects to our readers.

My next book, Dreams Reign Supreme, is a collection of short stories and poetry. I hope to have it out by late 2011/early 2012.

I'm currently working on it with my editor.

:)

E.A. Bucchianeri | 18 comments Congrats on all the new publictions! Here's my announcement:

After years of researching classical music and the Faust legend for my Non-fiction books, it was time to take a break and write something light and entertaining, ta da, my first novel:

"Brushstrokes of a Gadfly
(Due to be released c. May 21, 2011)

Synopsis: Creative and impetuous, Katherine Walsingham has simple but grand plans after she receives her Masters degree in art--to defiantly strive for the highest ideals in her work contrary to modernist trends, and, like many artists, to open her own gallery, right in the heart of fashionable Manhattan, never suspecting the successes and triumphs, bumps and trials that will head her way. Consumed with her career goals and not prepared to settle down just yet, she discovers life and love have a strange way of turning all her best laid plans topsy-turvy ... with bittersweet consequences.

"Brushstrokes of a Gadfly" is a story brimming with vibrant and entertaining characters that only New York's High Society and art circles can provide. It is a colourful and amusing novel tinged with human tragedy.

'Out of Australia' to be released very soon, I have recently read my 'proof' copy & have noted a couple of adjustments to my publisher.

If you seek academically perfectly written poetry.... you will be disapointed.
If you seek easy to read from the heart poetry...you will be pleased.

This book is a journey for the reader covering 100 of my poems from my early to recent & as one reads you can see the progression of my style be it, Aussie 'bush' poetry, free verse, traditional rhyme & sonnets.

E.A. Bucchianeri | 18 comments Hi everyone, that's amazing, you all seem able to write / publish at least two novels a year, while I've been at work for two years on my first novel. How do you do it? I'm amazed with authors who can create so fast. Maybe page lengths are different?

I enjoy good long character developments, especially when there are a lot of characters, maybe that's it, I find it difficult to keep a story within two to three hundred pages, my novel has run on quite a bit I must admit. (Looks likes it's heading for eight hundred or nine hundred pages so far.)

Anyone else have difficulties stopping a book?

message 11: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Glenn | 9 comments I would have called myself BLESSED to write 800-900 pages in two years. You're fast enough, it IS the stopping that's the problem. In order to get that bad boy published, you'll probably need to break it up into a series of shorter novels.

E.A. Bucchianeri | 18 comments Hi Sarah,

Whew, glad to know I'm not too slow.
Just to clarify,I've about 750 photocopy sized pages, and I'm guessing up to 900 pages when it converts into a 6x9 inch trade size book.

I think I can fit it in one book, I can go up to 1050 pages if needed. ( I tried making it smaller, honest, but the story wouldn't 'round off' properly.) And, my mind is already busy at work musing over a sequel. Yes, stopping is a big problem, people are complex, so are literary characters.

Edit Update: Holy Smokes! The novel has reached 1038 pages! I'll have to learn to be more like Hemmingway and write a novel in six words ...
