((Woot!))
Lelani's bow is readied and held at her side in a tight grip. Her hair is bound into a tight bun and her normal carefree expression is replaced by determination and solemnity. She stands statues, everything still except for her scanning eyes. Her clothes mask her with the night, blending so only the brilliance of her battle lusting face shows.

"Hello" she greeted the others, her fingers playing impatiently with a strand of hair that was falling over her face. Her eyes quickly scanned over the others, taking in everything she could get about them.

"A Basilisk is nothing like the one in Harry Potter, I assume." Lelani spoke, a small smirk on her face.

"Harry Potter? That 'book' knows not much of the real mythological world" she muttered then she looked to the others
"Maybe Lady Artemis knows" she added shrugging
((Who's RPing Artemis??))

((Maybe Magdalena, I think she organized the Hunt))
((You guys are quick! :)))
Georgiana padded silently into the moonlight, face exuberant at the prospect of another Hunt. The firelight caught her silver bow and quiver, making them seem to shimmer with a mythical radiance.
"Maybe Rowling didn't want mortals getting anywhere close to the truth?" she offered, shrugging her smooth shoulders and making her long black hair shift over to the left in its simple braid.

"Good, because I hate to make people mad or sad. It makes me feel guilty." Illiana made a sad-guilty looking face, then giggled. She turned to Georgiana,"That would make sense."
((So, I assume that you are RPing Artemis?"
Artemis stepped towards the group of girls. "My Hunters, I have been without you--and without a Hunt--for so long, I hardly know whether to embrace you all or sprint into the moonlit forest."
Her eyes sparkled with the rare hint of warmth.
Her eyes sparkled with the rare hint of warmth.

"My Lady, what do we know of the Basilisk?" she asked her "I want to hunt! It's been quite some time now..."

((Nevermind, question answered:-)))
"The Basilisk is an ancient being, formed from a rooster sitting atop a serpent's egg. The most striking and excitingly challenging characteristic of the Basilisk is that it is not originally of Greek origins." Here Artemis paused, smiling a bit as the maidens were pulled into her tale.

"So...if it's not greek..then what..?" she trailed off, looking questioningly at her patron.
"The Basilisk," Artemis continued, "migrated to ancient Greece. I remember when it happened. Of course, any kind of monster is eventually found by Echidna, and she brought it under her wing, so to speak."

((I found some mac n' cheese and attacked it. ;) then my iPod died.))
"Somewhere in northern Europe, or so I'm told. In those days I didn't pay much attention to that area. Now, of course, I regret it." Artemis affected, for a moment, a look of remorse, which quickly was smoothed by a grim smile.
"Now the beast is attacking towns in the Midwest."

Artemis glanced around the Hunters gathered in camp. "Before the trail goes cold, and as soon as all my Hunters are present... my guess is sunrise."
Eleanor has followed her fellow hunters out of the cabin, silent a s always. A frown was upon her lips, as always, and she merely watched her sister's excitement with a passive expression, as always.
Sighing quietly, she shifted her weight back and forth, beginning to grow impatient. Where is everyone?

Nicki wrote: "Tris stands on the hill overseeing the Hunters camp. Her chestnut bow slung casually across her shoulder. She smiles deviously at the sight of the young women sharping weapons, sparring, and training, wondering what the heck she missed. "

"When do we leave My Lady? We have to go before it escapes the realm!"
Artemis smiled, seeing her hunters gathered, anticipating the Hunt. "The trail leads from there," she said, pointing one long, silvery finger to a path of reeds to the east. The wolves growled. Moonlight shimmered and it seemed that the very air was holding its breath.
"Let's head off!" the goddess cried, gesturing for her Hunters to follow as she took off at a long sprint towards the trail. The Hunt was on!

With a quick inhale, Eleanor speed off after the goddess. Her expression never faltered, save for the almost-smile that almost crept onto her lips as she ran that faded as she almost fell as they began passing through the reeds

She slowed down slightly as she saw another hunter stumble.
"You Ok?" she called to her
((Adrenaline*))
Eleanor nodded slightly, pursing her lips together. Dear gods. They'd hardly begun and she was already stumbling. She couldn't help but wonder what that could possibly foreshadow for later.

A long, quiet stretch of beach extends beside a moonlit ocean, the sky a brilliantly deep blue, like the softest of navy velvets. A silvery glow radiates from a young maiden, sitting beside a crystal-silver fire, alone but for a dozen or so ghost-white wolves circling the beach. Suddenly, as if from the shadows, young women armed with deadly bows and hunting knives appear from all directions, taking their places beside the commanding figure of Artemis, goddess of the hunt, awaiting eagerly for the Hunt for the Basilisk to begin.
