Megan I loved her TED talk. If you've read this and "The Gifts of Imperfection," could you compare/contrast the two? Any suggestions re which to read first? Thanks!

Sarah Gibbs Hi, I loved her TED talk, too! I've read them both, or rather, I should say that I started reading "ITIWJM", loved it, ran out and bought "GOI", and was totally let down. "I Thought" is very different from "Gifts", in my opinion. "I Thought" is meaty and scholarly and a wee bit academically snotty (totally my style, not to everyone's taste), while "Gifts" is definitely written for a broader audience, more "self-help". It is less complex, which for me equaled less satisfying. In fact, I still haven't finished "Gifts" but am already starting to re-read sections of "I Thought". I guess it depends what you are in the mood for - appetizers or a 6-course meal? I almost felt like the two books were written by two different authors. I'd be curious to know what others who have read both books think.
