Tatiana (tatiana_g) This challenge is one of the most popular on Goodreads and I would like to offer it to those who think they are up for it.

A-Z Reading Challenge

Rules

Duration: June 1, 2011 - December 31, 2011.

You can read in any order you wish.

Although we are a YA Book Club, for this challenge, if you wish, you can read adult books as well, as long as at least 50% of the books read are young adult.

You have 7 months to read 26 books.

Either the first word in the title of the books or the author’s name (first or last) should correspond with a letter in the alphabet.

You should omit “a” and “the” in the titles.

Letters Q, X and Z can be positioned anywhere in the titles or author names.

Everything should be done on this thread - your questions, your plans, your progress.

Examples: A - The Adoration of Jenna Fox, B - Going Bovine (Libba Bray).

Happy reading!

Kira (chewablebook) | 19 comments Quick question before I begin: Are the books in this challenge permitted to overlap with other challenges, or is it preferred that all the books be different? In other words, for example, let's say I wanted to use Queen of the Dead (The Ghost and the Goth, #2) by Stacey Kade for my Q. As a new release in June, the book would also meet one of the criteria for the Summer Quarterly challenge. Could the book be used for both (since the timing fits), or is it best to choose two separate books, if I chose to participate in both challenges?

It was fairly easy for me. I added all the ones I'm doing for the Summer YA Challenge and then went through all of the books I have on my Kobo. =)

message 38: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Just about the same for me. I had to find some new ones to match the summer challenge. Just about all the rest are on me to read list. I like the challenges because it makes me read a lot of the books that I want to read but sit on the list because they're not the norm that I read.

Ellen I love to read YA and adult books, but I am a childrens' librarian and obviously need to keep up with the new kids' stuff. Any problem with using high middle grade books? (I won't cheat by using easy readers or picture books)!
