Hello fellow DA members!

Now, as the only active mod at the moment, I'm going to try to fix this group! However, I have some rules and renovations that I would like to announce!

RULES!!!

1. You may NOT add any topic to the general folder unless permission is granted by a mod (No, I didn't say "me" because we're adding new mods). And no, I'm not trying to be harsh, but I'm trying to de-clutter.
2. You may not advertise your other group by creating a topic about it. I will create a topic called "Your Group" and you can advertise there!
3. Please, try to keep the random, not-subject-related posts to the "Random!" folder. Wow... I can't believe I'm actually saying this...
4. Follow the rules!
5. Be cheesy and... HAVE FUN! Haha... you get it?? I was being cheesy.... no... no one gets it...

RENOVATIONS!!!

1. Yes, I deleted the RP and am taking Hannah/Kate/whoever-you-are's suggestion. There will be two RP folders. One for RPing real characters from the book. The other for your made up characters. More rules on RP to come in the new RP folders I will create!
2. Please tell me about which topics are repeats IN THIS DISCUSSION. Please format like so:
The is a repeat in topic _______________________. They are in folders ____________ and __________________.
3. I will be deleting some folders and topics I think are useless. However, I will post which ones I'm deleting and will let you argue/agree with me. The topics/folders will be deleted a week after I post (if I have time).
4. I will be de-modding one or two mods and adding two new mods. Please vote on which to de-mod/mod on the poll page.

Yay!!! I think that's it. If there's anything else you think we need to fix/add as a rule, please comment! Now I can be spazzy again. Thank goodness! =D

No one can make a topic with out permission. But I guess it's ok, as long as it's not out of place.

I have a suggestion.

I think you delete every single topic about the person, Harry Potter and create a folder for him because there seems to be 10-13 topics on him. I think within that folder you can cover all aspects of him such as "His personality", "His look", "His journey", "His past", ect.

I also think that you should create a folder for the plot. You seeem to cover all the characters but we should probably emphazise the plot, becaus eit plays an important role.

And are you gonna get rid of the closed topics along with the folder?

Sorry if I seem like I'm rishing you, I'm just putting my ideas out there. :)

And please dont remove Jenn(I doubt you would, but she HAS been inactive for a very long time) because she is awesome and has been popular on Goodreads since i joined 2 years ago.

Thanks. :) YOu went to Paris??? Lucky!!!! I want to go there. I take french in school and put up with my boring monotonous fake smiling teacher just becasue of that. :)

To tell the truth, even though we are renovating the random comments will never go away. And I'm sure that it's not going to be like a super organized super strict group, it's not like we are taking all the randomness out, its more like putting the focus on HP back in. :) Organization doesn't mean unrandom, well ...

Oh. to vote for the new mod - go to polls, there's a poll for it. :)

Some other ideas-

new members don't like to read through a lot of comments so maybe we should open up a welcome topic for just new members and comment whenever a new member comments? Same with introduce yourselft and others like it.

Also, many of here are in multiple groups so advertise this group in others to get new members.

In the opening box where it says a little about the groups, swati and asiyah were just kinda like chatting on it, I think it would be better to keep it simple. Something like "The ideal fan group for Harry Potter fans alike!" or something along those lines.

Just thoughts and suggestions. :)

Defintely... shoot... I still can't figure out how to spell definintely... urghhhhh.... Well, I KNOW for a fact that the randomness will not stop but I think that it's stupid to name this group Dumbledore's Army if no one talks about the HP books. Or else I'll just name it "A Random Group for People to Chat in Topics About Harry Potter Characters."

Yeah I'll talk to Jenn tomorrow because she's my best friend and neighbor so yeah. But I'm probably just going to choose the top two votes for de-modding. Just so you know, quoting Jenn, "I don't like going on DA because there are a bunch of illiterates now." Her words, not mine. =D

Also, about he group, another suggestion -

Maybe we can get rid of the random folders such as - Random - Celebrities, maybe just have one folder random, and one topic for celebs. That way we can have more of our focus on HP and more room for disscussion about it too.

Also some other suggestions -

There's noth much to talk about the house elves. I was thinking that maybe instead having a folder for them, chane the golder to "other hp creatures" and have a topic where you can discuss house elves, a topic where you can discuss giants, a topic to discuss thestrals, ect.

Another sugestion -

You seem to have 2 of each game, HP related and not HP realted. So it might help to create two folders - Hp related games, non HP realted games.

no problem. And it's ok if takes a while. I mean it's too hard pressueon all of us, espeacially you to make it happen over night, so take your time. :)

I like it, well actually ...
That's not a bad idea but a month is too long and tiffany can't do it all alone and all of it a week or 2. It seems like way too much pressure. Her choice though ...

yah.......i guess.....well more than a month if she needs it

Well, honestly,, it she works for about an hour a day she can finish it in 2 or 3 weeks. But it's hard to take an hour out of a day and its only her ... so she needs the time, but if she closes the group for that long we might loose more active members. Tiffany's call ... :)
