This is a general place where we can all get away from the things that we are supposed to be doing and escape with our other new GoodReads friends!! This will be out general chat room/ play room/ get together and ramble on about our favorite pair of fuzzy socks room.

The attic will be a place where our imaginations can run freely and we don't have to worry about finding the right folder to put things in. Feel free to make new topics in here as needed - I may throw ideas out for the group in here from time to time to see how you guys like it. By the way, I will say that I think we have one of the greatest groups here on Goodreads!! :) You are all wonderful!!

Cassie McCown (cassie629) | 713 comments Awesome!

I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to attempt to accomplish today... ;-) My kids and I are hanging out jamming for a bit! NIN is on at the moment...lol...

message 3: by Cassie (new)

Cassie McCown (cassie629) | 713 comments Maybe it should be the "basement" since it's ALL the way at the bottom of the page...LOL...

message 4: by Cambria (new)

Cambria (cambria409) | 3305 comments Lol. the basement is what I said! Hahaha. Somedays it is hard to settle on what to do. There is always so much waiting to get done!

Cassie McCown (cassie629) | 713 comments Nine Inch Nails... ;-) But I had to change it in the chorus because it was not quite child friendly...

It's been more cleaning this afternoon... Sigh...

Janice Tuzo | 6 comments Hi all, it is hotter than Hatti here, the kids have been baking at school. I did however approach a grade six student to draw some characters for my next novel. She is excited and so am I.

message 8: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Clement (jaclement) | 1328 comments I haven't written one but as a teen one of my fave kids' books was where the princess was the kick-ass sword-fighting one and the price was a bit droopy and pathetic instead of the other way round.

I was far too old for the book - it was aimed at about 10 yr olds I think - but it was very funny, esp given the general tenor of the time.

Haha, I thought Goodreads was the place I was escaping from my obligations. More distractions, less work, yay!

Well hello everyone!! Glad to see we have people chatting in here and not working too hard!! Working too hard was what I did yesterday, and I missed all of my friends in here!!

I thought the basement was a good place to find our attic, we are all creative types here, and we wouldn't want things to be 'standard' - that is never ANY fun!!

And Ken, things are going swimmingly well!! Thank you for asking!! :)

Cassie McCown (cassie629) | 713 comments I love Veggie Tales, but once is enough... They kept doing the pants song (They're pants if you're short and shorts if you're tall... Pants, pants, pants, pants....)...and of course everything gets stuck in my head. I banished them from the computer & now they are watching SweetPea Beauty and hopefully going to sleep!!!!

I think I could deal with VT better than JB. I don't know...

Anyway, what I actually came over here to say (this may be a bad place for me...I will be dumping my random thoughts all over the place ;-)...):

I was just over skimming over my personal blog, which I posted on last night for the first time in a while. I realized that when I sit down to "talk", I talk a lot! LOL I'm not much of a talker IRL. It's weird.
I basically talk to myself there. I have one official follower...ha!...but I have a few family members that subscribe by email b/c that's where I can kinda talk about what is going on with us and share a few pictures and such.

Soooo...okay, I'm getting back to work now that I've emptied my brain of that little train of thought ;-)...

And poor Cambria, Justin Bieber, ICK!!!!

Susan (bookishrevelations) | 112 comments I just wanted everyone to know, that I've been under a lot of stress the last few months and it has been causing me to do the wacky. I'm not always this emotional or all over the place and I apologize if I've rubbed anyone the wrong way. I'm not excusing myself for it, I own it completely. I just hope that you can at least try and understand, there's a lot of family medical issues regarding my gran and my four year old neice, as well as my own mother that's seriously weighing really heavy on me.

So, yeah, I apologize. :)

message 22: by Cambria (new)

Cambria (cambria409) | 3305 comments Thank you for your apology Suz. We all get a little Wacky sometimes....most times i am wacky and sometimes I am normal. LOL.
I think it is really great of you to come on here and say this.
And my thoughts are with you and your family in your time of trouble. I understand how that is and I wish you and your family the best. If you need anything your friends here at GR will be here!!

I figured that something had to take the higher road and I would rather do that, than to just keep holding onto the frustration. It's not good at all, so I accept my part in everything, I just hope that other's can accept responsibility for theirs and we can go on and just let it go. :)

Thank you, for your thoughts. I really do appreciate that, I'm a little worried about all three kind of at the same time and it's just been a weight of stress. So, I really appreciate that you guys will be here.

J.A. Clement (jaclement) | 1328 comments Spunktacular?! NOT one to use in the UK!

hahahaha gross....assuming it's whole spunky=feisty thing you mean though? You know there's a type of muffin called Otto Spunkmeyer's? There's a reason it never caught on in the UK....

We use the phrase "going swimmingly" though - you been hanging with the Brits again Amy?

This past weekend was fun, but I am SOOO exhausted. Of course, I have tons of things to get done this week! Maybe I can do half of them ;-)...

It is DRY here!! I seriously think it has been three weeks since we've had any rain. Probably not, but we have definitely not had anything substantial. I could go for about a week of thunderstorms followed by 70 degree weather until October! ;-) Ha!

Alrighty... I have to do something. Like nap! ;-)

Splitter, thanks for putting the seat down, it's never fun falling in - not a good type of surprise!
And if we get the TV, I must insist that hockey must be shown on said TV!!

Laurie (barksbooks) (barklesswagmore) Whatcha want to chat about?

I haven't watched Teen Wolf because I doubt they can do it better than Jason Bateman. And I already knew what spunk meant. My innocence was lost many naughty books ago ;) Those Black Lace books can warp a girl.

I have a question. Do any of you have dogs and if you don't mind me asking are they naughty? Do they have issues and do you care? I recently lost two of my long time dogs (old age & cancer) and though I loved them they were flawed and now I realize it was my fault. One jumped up and peed on visitors and the lab was growly and under socialized because I got him when I had two little babies and I was too lazy to train them to be better boys. I was happy they were house-trained and loved me. But I feel bad for not being a better doggie-momma and helping them with their issues.

Yes, i think I am. We should move somewhere like seattle and it is always cloudy and rainy. You can bring your DVR because I would love to have one. I have to watch Teen Wolf when its one or I don't get to see it. Oh! the hardship!

I don't like to watch tv commercials either. :(

@barklesswagmore- i am not familar with Jason bateman's version of TW....do elaborate.

Laurie (barksbooks) (barklesswagmore) He was in the sequel back in the 80's and the whole thing was just so silly and cute and cheezy. I can't picture someone else in the role (besides the original TW Michael J. Fox).

message 50: by Cambria (new)

Cambria (cambria409) | 3305 comments Oh, i didn't know there was a sequel. I was born in the 80's so i don't recall much. LOL. So is it a sequel to the michael j fox movie? that i am familar with.
cheesy, silly and cute can be very fun sometimes! :)
