History: Kept very good secrets. Knew it was Tom Riddle who opened the Chamber of Secrets, but didnt tell because he didnt want to be killed. Once he told someone who swore on their life they would never tell but Riddle turned against the two.

How the died: When Riddle turned against him, the Basilisk petrified him and then Riddle finished him off with the Avada Kedavra curse.
