When you post a review to the forum, always remember that other people may or may not post things soon after you post your review. Unfortunately, this means that at times, some reviews and posts will be up for several days, even weeks, but others may only be up there for a few hours.

This is how a forum works. You may not always be happy with the amount of exposure your review gets, but remember, you always have the chance to post another review later on and the reviews are always there, people will always have the chance to view them. :)

I will not move around reviews and posts simply because you believe your review or post did not have enough time on the "main page". Cambria and I wish to give everyone a fair chance, and in this type of setting when and how long your post is there is simply up to chance.

Please remember the rules of the group and post your reviews and posts in the correct folders. Please do NOT create new folders, if you wish a new folder be created because you think your review or post doesn't fit in with any of the established folders, I will either direct you to the correct folder, or I will create a new one for you myself.

I wish I didn't have to even post this up, but unfortunately, I feel the need has arisen for me to make the statement: If you do not abide by these rules or continuously fight with me about the rules I have set up, I will remove you from the group.

While I do not wish to have to go to these lengths, I do want to make the rules of the group clear, and remind everyone of the way forum posts sometimes work. If you have any questions on anything, please, feel free to send me a message and I will discuss it with you!! :)

Cassie McCown (cassie629) | 713 comments I agree with these rules, and unfortunately pretty much every group has to break things down like this to remind people. You and Cambria are the mods and it is your group. If there are any members who can't follow the rules and bolster the positive atmosphere I think we have here, they can certainly start their own group. As far as the reviews go, I make sure to go through and catch up on all the new stuff no matter where it is. I may or may not comment, but I do read everything when I can!!!

This is a great group, and I am happy to be a part of it! You ladies are doing an awesome job!!! :-)

Laurie (barksbooks) (barklesswagmore) Sounds fair to me. I don't see what the issue is, this isn't a personal blog, it's a forum. If someone wants exposure for a longer length of time they should post the review on goodreads and it will sit front and center on their profile page where all their friends can see it until its bumped down by other things they choose to write on Goodreads. Or post it at Amazon where it will be featured until bumped down.

Laurie (barksbooks) (barklesswagmore) Amy, is there a mystery folder? I can't seem to find one.

Laurie (barksbooks) (barklesswagmore) Sorry about that I meant to type Mystery Reviews folder not a secret mystery folder ;)

message 14: by Cambria (new)

Cambria (cambria409) | 3305 comments I vote for an actual mystery folder. Its where we can put weird and bazaar things....what will you find in the mystery folder??? Its a mystery. :)

Well put Cassie!! and thank you! :)
I would like to say that just because a review doesn't stay on top or get comments doesn't mean people aren't looking at it!! And be sure to post your review in GR too! That way you get more chances for it to be seen!

message 16: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (bookishevents) I didn't even know you wanted the whole review posted here. I've been just posting a link in the comments to either my goodreads or blog review. Shows how clueless I am.

Hey Jenn! Well this isn't the folder to paste your entire review on, but we love to have the entire reviews posted in the group. All you do is click on the creative reviews name and then all the topics come up and you click on 'new'. Then you choose the folder that your review belongs in (based on genre) like Young Adult. then you type in the name and paste your review and hit post!! It is super easy.
This folder is the tips and tricks folder. Here we post little tips and tid bits that you use when blogging or even social networking that might help other people learn some great ideas!
I can't wait to see some of your reviews posted!!

Jackie I love your review! When posting a review make sure you put it in the correct folder....this review would be good in the Fiction folder or even the Romance folder. When you post it there it will come up as a topic by itself and more people will be able to find it, giving your review more exposure!

On the Amazon forums you can vote on posts to say they add to the discussion or not. On the UK forum over Christmas this was being misused by trolls who were downvoting any post by any author they disliked; so we decided to make a "Ghost" thread where we all told ghost stories and then downvoted them all so they disappeared and all you saw was the entry saying

JAClement said: [Customers did not think this post added to the discussion. Click here to see it anyway]

which amused us no end - only thing was that we kept having to explain it to the newbies who were getting v indignant at being no-voted when they had been adding perfectly pertinent posts to the conversation.

Well it amused me, anyhow....

Phil Cantrill | 313 comments I'm new to this site, blown away by the idea of communicating with real live writers. My reading and writing efforts have been largely defined by the tiny hole I laughingly call an office, and limited ability to use the internet. Pleased to meet you all.

J.A. Clement (jaclement) | 1328 comments Morning Phil, and welcome to the madness.

For the record, I'm a writer (but please note I make no claims to be real or indeed even live, at this time of day).

This is a great group though - you'll have a lot of laughs hanging out here.

(But if Cassie offers you ice-cream - *don't* eat it!)
heheheh

Well, hey there Phil! This is a great site and you will definitely get more interaction that when in that tiny hole. LOL.
There are a lot of writers lurking around here - myself included. It is nice to meet others who understand the madness. :)
Have fun around here and enjoy reading the reviews...if you write reviews feel free to post them in the group!

Welcome Phil! Great to meet you, and glad to see you here in our excitingly whacky group! This is a great group of readers, writers, and reviewers. This is a great place to get your mind off the cubby hole (I feel your pain, I worked in one of those for about 7 years...)

As far as ice cream goes, Cassie should never be allowed near a Baskin Robbins, nor should many others in here (JEN!! LOL)

I welcome you to join the fun all over the site, post away and have some fun!! :)

message 40: by Christopher (new)

Christopher Payne (journalstonepublications) | 3 comments I don't really like rules or guidelines of any nature and by default I disagree with whatever is said even if I would have agreed with it before it was stated. So for the record I don't agree with anything stated but I do agree with anything unstated, unless you state it of course, then I disagree.

Sorry, I never post on here, just wanted to give you a hard time.

Hey, you are approaching 500 very quickly. How about we offer to give away 5 JournalStone books when you reach 500 members. Does that sound ok? If it is then you should state that, but know, once stated I will disagree with it, but still honor it!

:)

Christopher Payne (journalstonepublications) | 3 comments I think everyone here is a little to singularly focused and missing the point entirely. I am sure it isn't just Cassie's ice cream that should be avoided.

I'm sure she is a wonderful woman, but........

If her ice cream scares away the masses, just imagine what her chocolate cake would do.

message 49: by Amy Eye (new)

Amy Eye | 1841 comments Mod
We do NOT even want to talk about the chocolate cake that would go with her ice cream!!! That is a truly nightmare-ish piece of work right there. Christopher, your ideas scare me at times, you are brilliant, but you scare me... LMAO
