Colin Andrews (tpg_rising) | 1 comments Not so much a question as a comment...

Love the Book cover for Distract my hunger ;-)

It's on my to-read list.

Thank you Colin!

I tried to make it powerful yet mysterious, I hope I got it right! ;)

Thank you for the positive feedback!

Susan (susan87) | 5 comments I haven't read the book yet, but the cover sure catches the eye! I know picking a cover for my own book was tough. Let's just say I was a tad bit picky. How about you or did you nail it on the first try?

To be totally honest, I knew exactly what I wanted when I was still finishing the book. Still the tricky part was making it a reality. This was my first try and though I'm still not sure how, I nailed it!
I'm trully happy with the result. Anyway, I hope I am just as lucky with the future covers! :)

I am indeed! :) I'm slowly working my way through book two. It is difficult to write the second one because you've already set the standards with the first one, right? Anyway I'm truly enjoying it!

Susan (susan87) | 5 comments I hear you! I'm also finding it hard to juggle the promotional efforts needed for the first book with the creative time that is vital for the sequel.

Thank goodness I love to write, and now I have an excuse to shmooze, guilt free!

Lora Palmer (lorareedpalmer) | 2 comments The premise sounds great! I'll have to check it out :) Can't wait to get to the part of being able to work on a sequel. For now, it'll be great to get draft one of book one finished!

Susan (susan87) | 5 comments Okay, I couldn't resist. I'm throwing out a quote my daughter's teacher used to say (that thouroughly annoyed my daughter, might I add), not sure where she got it, but it fits: The first step to done is do.

It's amazing how far we can walk taking one step at a time....

How far along are you? Are you an outline kinda writer or a fly by the seat of your pants type? Got a title yet?

Hayley Though hundreds of people tell us throughout our lives "don't judge a book by its cover," I have to say, that often the cover is what initially draws me in. It's the first thing we see, after all, and an impression that sticks inside our memory long-term. And I LOVE the cover you came up with; it is exactly how you described: powerful, yet mysterious. Can't wait to read it!!

Lora Palmer (lorareedpalmer) | 2 comments So true, Hayley! A great cover is key.

Having a great cover and an attention-snagging title are usually the first things to get me interested enough to check out the premise. I can't wait to read Distract My Hunger either. :)

Hey Susan: About book two, well it's kind of slower than what I'd like because I have too much work lately (besides my writing career I mean) and I don't have as much time as I'd like to actually sit down and write. So far, I have an outline (which always changes along the way) a few pages and the idea of a title. :) I'm also translating Distract My Hunger into spanish and working on another novel that has nothing to do with vampires.

Hayley: Thank you so much for your comment! :) I must admit that I'm quite drawn by covers too, in fact I have chosen many books by that. Luckily I've liked them all so far ;)
When you do get to read Distract My Hunger I'd love to get your views on it!

Lora: I'd love to know what you think of the book too when you read it! I think that I've learnt more about my characters and stories from what the readers say than I've ever imagined. :)

Sonia (sonia66) | 1 comments Hello girls!
I agree with you about the cover because, usually, it’s my very first approach to a book. Of course the cover alone is not enough to push me to give it a chance. In fact from the storyline I often decide if it is worth my time. X’s book is fascinating and innovative, I mean there are so many stories about vampires and it’s not so easy to give a story that certain something which makes it interesting.
