Just curious how those of you who read The Color of Magic on your e-reader felt about dealing with the frequent footnotes that Pratchett likes to use. I find it quite awkward on the Kindle, having to move the cursor via multiple movements of the 5-way, then clicking on it, then reading it, then hitting the Back button to return back to the source page. I really wish there were some short-cut key -- if nothing else to automatically move the cursor to the next link on the page.
Is it any better/worse on any other e-readers? (This might be where a touch screen would be really useful.)
I agree, it's a pain to read a footnote on the Kindle. Awhile back I read a science book that had tons of them, sometimes two on a page. It definitely slows down the reading. If you have the "number of highlighters" function on, it's a one-click to see it; surely they could make a shortcut for footnotes. Probably just not enough people complaining.
