Everyone from Emma Watson to Daniel Radcliffe has a part in the movie.

Who do you think carries out the part the best?
Who do youy think is the ugliest?
Who seems like the shy one?

Evanna Lynch carries out the role of Luna perfectly in my opinion.

EMMA WATSON EMMA WATSON EMMA WATSON!!!!!!!!

~*Just Slytherin Along w/ The Creatures*~ (Patrick Swayze's lover) (thejsaway) ALAN RICKMAN! he had an amazing voice and played his character the best! his voice showed despise and hate and he was just like the description in the book. He had the perfect body language and sarcasm when he spoke.

Pandy | 637 comments The movies are incredibly well cast, in my opinion. On the whole, the adults are amazing, and the younger actors have grown into their roles so well. It's hard for me to pick favorites, but the ones that seem absolutely "perfect" to me (even though the physical descriptions in the books may differ) are: Jason Isaacs (Lucius), Imelda Staunton (Umbridge), Alan Rickman (Snape), Maggie Smith (McGonagall), Rupert Grint (Ron), Tom Felton (Draco), Evanna Lynch (Luna), Jim Broadbent (Slughorn), and Brendan Gleeson (Moody).

~*Just Slytherin Along w/ The Creatures*~ (Patrick Swayze's lover) (thejsaway) maggie smith was good

Alan Rickman was really awesome. Me and my brother always make fun of how slowly he talks though.

"What....are you.....doing.....wandering about......at such.....late....hours?"

"Up......to something........, Potter?"

We always say stuff like, "Can you talk any slower?" Or, "Please, out with it!" Or, "Please, tell me what you want to say! The suspense in killing me!"

But, yeah, he fits the bill perfectly.

i agree on the slowness part. i don't like him because, in moments that are supposed to be emotional, he's emotionless

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

He just talks faster with the same cold voice and the part about Lily, he has the emotion and just cause we haven't seen it yet doesn't meean it hasn't happened

But that is snape, without emotion. Thats his chracteristic.

☆♪Taylor♪☆ (taybrookeg) | 54 comments yeah, but in the trailer, it shows some parts that are supposd to be emotional, and snape's still like:
"you've.........kept him alive...............so he can die........at the..............proper moment"

Well thats the point, snapes not supposed to hav any emotion. He's supposed to be the character who has an unbelievable amount of anger trapped up nside him due to feelings hes locked up in the past.

I think the delivery of this line is brilliant, actually. It really stands out in the trailer. You can hear the restrained anger in Snape's voice (in my opinion anyway). I've never had a problem with the portrayal of Snape in the movies, and I don't think Alan Rickman has any problem conveying the character's emotions at all. I agree, though, that movie Snape is much more controlled than book Snape. For example, it would be out of character for movie Snape to scream at Harry at the end HBP, as book Snape does. That's just how the chracter has been established in the films.

Test screen viewers for DH2 have said that there's a scene in "The Prince's Tale" where Snape goes to Godric's Hollow after the Potters have been killed and holds and cries over Lily's body. This along with other comments seems to indicate that Snape's memories will be very emotional.

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

I honestly think Lily should have picked Snape. I probably wouldn't have enjoyed reading the books (There wouldn't be Harry Potter!) but I mean, what did she SEE in James? He sounds like a total butt face to me.

Arti (a3books4) | 4234 comments Mod
at first he probably was

message 47: by Pandy (new)

Pandy | 637 comments Yeah; at first Lily just sees an "arrogant toerag." But we're told that James matures (he stops jinxing people for the fun of it). Even when he's young, he never uses dark magic and is outraged at the use of words such as "mudblood". He's good at most things and he knows it, so he shows off, and breaks the rules, but he doesn't descend to the level of being a cruel bully toward anyone except Snape, (in general) I think. He seems to grow into an extremely brave and caring man.

Snape on the other hand is attracted to dark magic at a very young age. This is one thing that Lily truly despises. She couldn't have "chosen" someone aiming to be a death eater.
