Jenny Just listened to my 1st Rizzoli & Isles book. Can anybody tell me the book order?

THANKS!

Vickie The Surgeon, The Apprentice, The Sinner, Body Double, Vanish, The Mephisto Club, The Keepsake, Ice Cold, and The Silent Girl :)

Carrie Zagzebski Good to know. I read Ice Cold, and LOVED it! I'll have to go back and read them in order.

Pam Cutlip-rix I enjoyed Ice Cold but if you go back to the beginning, you will be very glad you did as I think the first ones were the best.

Darlene I thoroughly enjoyed ice cold.

Elayne Read The Silent Girl last week another winner

Stormy I listened to Ice Cold on audio. I really liked it a lot. i think of all the books I have read by Tess Gerristan Ice cold has been my favorite. That and Vanish.

I agree. I read Ice Cold first. I have now read the first two & am about to start The Sinner. I think that the first ones are totally unpredictable & will literally have you holding on to the edge of your seat !

Elayne Apparently theres a TV series about Rizzoli and Isles but I haven't as yet seen it (my daughter has seen one)...mmm..not sure if it works, all the time, when they televise books...I've got these characters pictured in my mind..

Lisa @ Elayne

I was the tv series and it don't think they got the characters right.
I agree with you, i also got these pictures in my mind of the characters
And the tv characters aren't like that at all
Isles has blond curls and is a big know it all stuff
and rizolli i don't really know how to describe her but she isn't like i imagine her

???!!! Totally agree! For me both of them in the tv series were a little comical, which was exactly "not" like them in the book. Totally ruined my image of them. My favorite is The Surgeon. Gravity also blew my mind because it's really not Tess Gerristen's genre, science fiction. But she nailed it.

Darlene I enjoyed ICE COLD also. It is close to the top of the list of favorites as far as Tess Gerritsen books go for me.

???!!! Just finished "The Silent Girl" and I have to say it was a great disappointment. I only gave it an one star and it's only becuz I'm a fan. The plot was weak, characters not developed, and traces of "Girl w/Dragon Tattoo" almost made me drop the book. Not to mention that Tess infused the current popular Chinese flare into the novel really made her loose her originality. She should really stick to her own medical thriller genre.

Ian I'm a little surprised at how that so many of you enjoyed "Ice Cold". For me it was one of the most disjointed books I have read from Tess Gerritsen. Characters just fell off the face of the earth, new characters appeared half way through the book, the ending was bizarre.
I wasn't all that impressed.

Since her mother was from China and her Dad's parents were also, I'm pretty sure it wasn't just because it is currently popular.

Elayne I wasn't impressed by this book either, I've read a lot better from this author!

I read Gerristen's after thought as well and knew it's beczu of her parents. But I know a great deal about Monkey King as well. She should not choose this character to be her "Zorro". Overall, I think all her characters in this book were poorly developed.

I agree!

Wendy I have read most of these books, and was hooked on this author for years. And then the TV series "Rizzoli and Isles" came out. That showed killed the reading experience for me as most of the books are up all nighters, nail biting, afraid to turn off the light reading. The TV series doesn't come close to comparing to the books, and it's a huge disappoint for me.

Strange, I know, but I can't bring myself to buy another Tess Gerritsen book!

Dee i've just learnt to separate the show from hte books and not even compare the two - they are so vastly different - it is like kathy reichs and bones - yeah they are based on the series - but they are nothing like the books

Coni I agree!!!

C. J. Scurria TV shows never try to be just like the books because they have to think big compared to books where characters are introduced, killed off, make amends, and conclude all in one go.

They have to set reasons the characters have to be around and they can make things more flexible because they have to keep events going but also leave things hanging by a technique that will draw in the fans that are urging to see what happens next. And with that they won't be based on the books. I don't know if I will ever get into shows based on books (I have tried but not really cared for shows like "The Dead Zone" for example).

Anyway this book I think was great. I feel that she is great at creating characters that are flawed and I feel in comparison to Mary Higgins Clark, the "queen of suspense" is kind of average.

Ray READ THEM ALL.....THEY ARE ALL VERY GOOD READS.....IF YOU READ ONE.....YOU HAVE TO READ THEM ALL

Kathy I love the books. I was excited when the series first came on TV, but once I watched a few episodes, I stopped watching, as the characters in the book are far better.

Agreed. Seems the only connection between the books and the tv series is the names. The books are really interesting. The tv series is boring.

It saddens me when a good book or series are turned onto a film or tv show. It's just not meant to work that way.

Anita I loved this book

Jools I really enjoyed this book. I found it slightly different from previous books. I have loved all her books so far.
