Jenn (bookishevents) So I got a copy of Retribution from St. Martins Press in the mail today. It's not the copy I ordered (I mean it's the same thing but according to Amazon that copy is being delivered by USPS instead of UPS and won't arrive until tomorrow). I'm highly grateful of course (though I do wish I could have canceled my order for the one I bought but hopefully they'll let me return it.) I just have no idea why this book was delivered to me today.

I follow more than 500 blogs so I get confused about who had a contest for what, I can't seem to find a contest post I entered, I don't believe they would have sent it to me for review and I want to tell the blog owner thanks as well as attribute it to the proper place when I read and review it and post it on my IMM. I tried doing a google search but apparently there was just a big promotion where the publisher started a ton of contests for this book. All of them posted in the last week ending later this month so I know it's not any of those contests. Does anyone know which blog ran a contest for this book that has already ended? There's no info with the book, no email about the book coming and I have no idea where it came from.

Anagha Uppal That reminds me, I got a copy of Betrayal by Fern Michaels yesterday. Also grateful, but I don't know where it came from either. Sorry for taking your topic away, Jenn.

Jenn (bookishevents) np, maybe someone who keeps track of these things will know where they both came from :) Congrats on the Fern Michaels book win.

Dale Ibitz (goodreadscomdale_ibitz) | 298 comments Me either! I've entered so many, sometimes I forget what I've entered too! Though usually you get emails when you've won a book...strange.

Jenn (bookishevents) I know, I didn't get an email, I even checked my spam it's no where. So it had to be a contest where you filled out the address in the form. But which blog I emailed the publisher in hopes they'll know since they sent it. I'm probably going to end up scouring all 500 plus blogs I follow. It's going to be a long weekend if that is the case.

Anagha Uppal Thanks guys! It's weird-the one book I did win, I haven't gotten (it's been weeks) lol. I definitely never entered for a contest like this...I would know since I usually enter for lesser known authors. The only "popular" authors I have entered for are Sara Shepard, Maggie Stiefvater, JK Rowling, and Sherrilyn Kenyon. And I know for a fact I have won none of them.

Jenn, why do you need to know which blog sent it though? I'm guessing to thank them but if it's going to be so hard to find the blog and it didn't even let you know that you won...

Jenn (bookishevents) You should go blog cruising right now then because I saw like 30 open contests for Sherrilyn Kenyon's Retribution on different blogs that were posted in the last two days and running all month. I'm thinking it's a publicity company promotion with the bigger blogs.

One I'd like to thank them. Two I like to give proper linking in my IMMs and three I like to have accurate received from on my Reviews since even though I bought a copy I feel I now need to state I got it for free when I review it. If I can I'm going to return the copy I bought. That's money I can buy a different book with.

Finally it makes me feel like the worst sort of jerk not knowing where it came from and stopping in to say thanks.

Anagha Uppal You're absolutely right and I admire your determination to find the sender. I would never take the time to do this-I'm probably a lazy jerk lol. But that's also why I don't have the patience to enter that many contests, and most of the books I review come from authors whom I contact after they post here, or who contact me after seeing my blog.
