So what are you reading right now?

I'm reading Creepers, or rather listening to it on audiobook. The narrator is a bit cheesy-sounding, but I am pretty sucked in. This is sort of action, I think. Maybe a bit of horror...

One I really liked was "The Hunt for Atlantis." by Andy McDermot. Not quite as rich and twisted a plot as Rollins writes but really fun characters and lots of action. I enjoyed it. (First of a series.)

Hunt for Atlantis and Sandstorm are both good, different strengths. Overall I like Sandstorm better, but the hero in Hunt for Atlantis (Chase) is pretty fun.

I don't know if he's a reluctant hero or just part A-hole, but he's fun. (in a good way)

So, sort of the arrogant type?

Alice (nationofcrumb) | 297 comments While I enjoyed Hunt for Atlantis, I thought the follow up, The Tomb of Hercules, had some bad writing. I didn't finish it, but that may have just been my mood. Anyone read that one?

You could say that, yes. Part loose cannon, part noble knight. More tough guy than scholar, but not a dummy.

Alexander Draganov (darthsparhawk) "Jake Ransom", a YA novel by James Rollins. It's brilliant!

Alice, I've just read the first one of the Hunt for Atlantis. I haven't read the others yet. Thanks for the warning.

Darth, you might like Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt Series. The only hang up there is that he wrote some of them in the 1980s set five-10 years in the future. Now the future's come and gone and.. boy, did he miss the fall of the old Soviet Union (who saw that coming?) Other than that. They're fun reads. They get better as you read them (up through Shockwave anyway).

I have Jake Ransom in my pile. I'm glad you enjoyed it Darth.

That's too bad The Tomb of Hercules wasn't good, Alice.

The first one is enough to make a person hope for better.
