Hi Everone,
please remember when shelving your own books, please file them under their genre category (i.e, mystery, military, comedy etc) If the shelf doesn't exist for your book, please create it. Thanks

Please also remember, when shelving books to put a sentence or two in the "why book?" category so other members know why you think it is an exceptional book.

Thanks Lena, I took care of it.

Is there any way to keep people from adding dupes to the list? I know not everyone will want to go through the entire list, and there must be different editions or something...I've seen a couple on the list a few times. There's probably nothing anyone can do about it, just wondering. I saw Time Traveler's Wife a couple times, and Pride & Prejudice, etc. Can I take one off, or is that just totally rude of me? Lol.

By all means take the duplicates off, there is no need to have something on there more than once. I'm not sure if there is a way to sort the list to display duplicates, like you can on your personal bookshelf but I'll check it out.

Lena, actually, there is...at the very bottom of the bookshelf list, you will see the word "duplicates" click that and the duplicates come up :)

I think I filed my books incorrectly... I didn't realize we had to create a shelf, so they've been going under General :( Sorry! I'll do it the right way this time...

Hm, it doesnt show up on mine. Maybe you have to be a mod. Anyway, I'll delete if I see dupes in the future.
At this time, Pride and Prejudice, The Time Traveler's Wife, The Passage and Stranger in a Strange Land are listed twice.

ok
ok

The Giver
Pride and Prejudice
The Ancestor's Tale: A Pilgrimage to the Dawn of Evolution
Outlander
Stones from the River
Swan Song
Skippy Dies
Lucifer's Hammer
The Scarlet Pimpernel
There's also a book by Michael Findley that was added twice (by a Mary Findley, oddly enough), once as a regular book, and once as the illustrated version: Antidisestablishmentarianism.
I was also curious about how books in a series should be added, because I saw some that were added individually , and others that were added both singly and as a series:
Harry Potter by Rowling
Inheritance/Eragon by Paolini
The Dark Tower by King
A Song of Ice and Fire by Martin
Seems to me like adding just the series would be neater for housekeeping purposes, but sometimes there are only a one or two exceptional books in a series. So... what are the guidelines for books in a series?
I guess my vote (for what it's worth) would be that if the series as a whole is added, the individual books could be removed.
